Sikkim State Rural Livelihood Mission, Soreng Block organized a coordination meeting among the Chairperson, SHG members, and various line departments. The programme was held at the RURBAN Complex Conference Hall, Soreng.

BDO Soreng Block, Shri Paru Hang S***a attended the programme as the Chief Guest, along with Smt. Anuradha Gurung, Chairperson, Fisheries Department, Government of Sikkim. Officials from different line departments were also present at the event.

Lastly, we, the block staff of Soreng Block, extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated BDS Leaders, BRPs, WRPs, and all the supportive SHG members for making this programme successful.

New Delhi, August 15: Two SHG members — Mrs. Ishwori Pradhan (Lakhpatti Didi), wife of Mr. Yadu Nath Pradhan, and Mrs. Suk Maya S***a (SHG Member), wife of Mr. Praveen Gurung — along with Ms. Yashoda Suji (Assistant Project Manager) from Hee Martam Block, Gyalshing district, were selected to witness the Independence Day programme at the Red Fort, New Delhi.

On 13th August 2025, they were warmly received by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) with a brief interview.

On 14th August, the team visited the National Museum in New Delhi, followed by a special programme honouring the Best CLF Awardee and an Independence Day felicitation ceremony by the Hon’ble Union Minister MoRD, Government of India.
On 15th August, they attended the Independence Day celebrations at the historic Red Fort, where the Hon’ble Prime Minister hoisted the National Flag. The event featured patriotic performances and a helicopter showering flower petals over the audience.The SHG members shared their enriching experiences and expressed heartfelt gratitude to NRLM and SRLM for providing them with such a proud and memorable opportunity.
