Strengthening grassroots veterinary outreach through the “Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan — Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle” campaign, under the leadership of Dr. Monalisa Ahmed, Block Veterinary Officer, Block Veterinary Dispensary, Gaurisagar, conducted livestock vaccination, animal healthcare and awareness programmes across Dikhowmukh and Kawaimari Gaon Panchayats from 20th to 22nd May 2026.
Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination drives were carried out at Jon Miri Borgaon under Dikhowmukh Gaon Panchayat on 20/05/2026 covering 294 cattle, followed by another vaccination programme at Moglo Pukhuri under Kawaimari Gaon Panchayat on 21/05/2026 covering 290 cattle.
On 22/05/2026, Dr. Ahmed participated in 02 nos. of “Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan” public meetings held at Kawaimari Gaon Panchayat at 10:00 AM and Dikhowmukh Gaon Panchayat at 1:30 PM along with officials from different departments. During the programme at Kawaimari Gaon Panchayat, Aadhaar seeding process for livestock beneficiaries was also carried out. Awareness was created among the public regarding various ongoing schemes and veterinary healthcare initiatives, including:
• FMD Vaccination Round-7 for cattle & buffaloes.
• CSF Vaccination Round-3 for pigs.
• Awareness on African Swine Fever (ASF).
• Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme.
• Aadhaar seeding process for livestock beneficiaries.
• Pre-flood preparedness and livestock protection measures.
• MVU (Mobile Veterinary Unit) doorstep veterinary services through toll-free helpline 1962 for treatment, emergency care and advisory support to livestock farmers.
The programme reflects the continued commitment of the Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Department towards strengthening livestock healthcare delivery, farmer awareness and accessible veterinary services at the grassroots level in Sivasagar district.
