Glimpses of the Road safety meeting held today with the Dy. SP Traffic, SHO Heerpora, Assistant Engineer 52 RCC (BRO), Naib Tehsildars of Shopian and Trenz, and officials from PWD (R&B), NIC, and the Municipal Council Shopian.

During the meeting, various road accident black spots across the Tehsil were discussed and several locations were identified based on accident vulnerability and field inputs. It was decided that immediate corrective measures, including installation of convex mirrors at blind curves, placement of warning and regulatory signages, and other necessary road safety interventions to minimize accident risks, shall be undertaken.

It was further emphasized that regular monitoring will be carried out and periodic review meetings will be held to assess progress and ensure timely implementation of the prescribed road safety measures.

Shopian has witnessed such heavy snowfall after many years. The public is advised to stay indoors and avoid venturing out unnecessarily. Roads are being cleared; however, due to continuous heavy snowfall, they get blocked again shortly after clearance.

All medical emergencies, including transportation of dead bodies, are being assisted. Kindly bear with us and maintain patience.

A mega Mutation Attestation Camp was organised by Naib Tehsildar Shopian, Mr. Sajjad Wani and his team, under the initiative “Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur”, wherein 253 mutations were attested, and certified copies of the same were provided to the applicants on the spot.
