The Green and Clean Shirdi

4 years ago on 2nd Oct 2014 few like minded people came together with a single thought to make our beloved Sai Baba’s Shirdi a clean and green and beautiful one. We started cleaning roads of Shirdi, police station, schools, bus stand etc on every Tuesday morning from 7-9am. Seeing our dedication, soon we many others joined and we became a big group. We also clean Shirdi roads before every festival and yatra. Shirdi being the most famous pilgrimage place in India, millions from within and outside India visit Shirdi every year.

We are also taking efforts to plant trees on roads of Shirdi and also various places. We have planted almost 4000 trees till now; all of which are growing very well. Shirdi the arid dry land, has started looking green. The devotees and residents of Shirdi should feel great, happy and settled is only goal.

We urge to all devotees and residents of Shirdi to keep our Shirdi clean. Cleanliness is Godliness. Sai Baba would clean His areas on His own and he would plant and water trees every day.

Chapter 5 of Sai Satcharitra narrates that, … Baba, when went to Rahata- a town 3 km from Shirdi, He would bring small plants of Marigold, Jai and Jui flowers. After cleaning, He would plant them. He would water them every day. A devotee, Vaman Tatya would supply Baba with earthen pitchers. Baba would bring water in these pitchers from the well. Baba thus created a beautiful garden on the barren lands of Shirdi.
