Under the leadership of Chairman and Managing Director, Sh. Bhupender Gupta, SJVN Limited organized a tree plantation drive in Shimla today under the campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ to celebrate World Environment Day and take a significant step towards environmental conservation.
On this occasion, Director (Personnel), Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, CVO, Sh. Pankaj Porwal and Lt. Col. Lakhwinder Singh, 133 Infantry Battalion (TA) Eco Dogra planted saplings as part of the tree plantation drive. This tree plantation drive was organized at Chamiyana, Shimla, in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh State Forest Department.
Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma stated that, as a testament to the collective commitment towards environmental conservation, 150 saplings of Deodar, Oak, Walnut, Pomegranate and other tree species were planted. He further stated that the initiative would help inspire greater awareness and action towards environmental protection.
The plantation drive witnessed active participation from officials of 133 Infantry Battalion (TA) Eco Dogra, Himachal Pradesh State Forest Department and Heads of Departments, senior officials and employees of SJVN Corporate Headquarters, Shimla, marking a meaningful step towards achieving a greener future.

Under Swachhta Pakhwada 2026, SJVN Limited continued its commitment towards fostering cleanliness, hygiene and community participation through various awareness initiatives across its projects.
To raise awareness on menstrual health and hygiene, Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Project distributed sanitary napkins among female students at Govt. Girls High School, Sujanpur Tihra and PM Shri Govt. Senior Secondary School, Alampur.
Expert Talk and Awareness Sessions on importance of personal hygiene, preventive healthcare and sanitation practices were organised through Mobile Medical Units ‘Satluj Sanjeevani Sewa’, in collaboration with Helpage India by Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, Luhri-1 Hydro Electric Project and Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project. Also, Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project organised a Declamation Competition on theme ‘Cleanliness Leads to Prosperity’ at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Khaira.
Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station organised a Cleanliness Awareness Rally and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in collaboration with Govt. College, Mori and its Red Cross Unit. Through impactful slogans, public was encouraged to adopt healthy habits, maintain clean surroundings and stay away from substance abuse. A Declamation Competition on Cleanliness was also organised at PM Shri Govt. Model Inter College, Mori.
Rampur Hydro Power Station organised a Special Cleanliness Drive along the banks of river Satluj near Power House complex at Duttnagar. Project employees enthusiastically participated in this drive to encourage public participation in environmental conservation efforts.

As part of ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada 2026, SJVN Limited organized outreach activities to promote awareness about cleanliness and hygiene.
Painting Competitions were organised by Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Sanarsa; Rampur Hydro Power Station at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Kharga; Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Project at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Bhaleth and Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Sunni encouraging students to express significance of cleanliness, environmental conservation and sustainable lifestyles through art. Also, Nukkad Nataks were organised by NJHPS at GSSS, Sanarsa and Rampur HPS at GSSS, Kharga to motivate students for cleanliness and preservation of ozone layer.
CHQ, Shimla organised an Awareness session on Menstrual Health and Hygiene at Govt. Girls High School, Lakkar Bazar, Shimla. Sanitary napkins were also distributed among participants to support menstrual hygiene awareness and enhance their well-being. Cleaning and Sanitation kit was provided to Govt. Senior Secondary School, Mehli, Shimla for upkeep and maintenance of Girls' Toilet.
Luhri-1 Hydro Electric Project organised a Declamation Competition on theme ‘Clean India, Green India’ at Govt. High School, Koyal, Kullu. For promoting hygiene, sanitary napkins were also distributed to female students.

Under ‘Swachhta Pakhwada 2026’, at Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station, separate dry and wet waste dustbins were provided to schools, hospitals, tehsil office and local Mahasu Devta Temple in Mori Block to encourage scientific waste segregation and proper waste management practices.
At Luhri Hydro Electric Project Stage-I, separate dustbins for wet and dry waste collection were provided to Government Senior Secondary School, Koyal. Sanitation material was also provided to the school manag ement to ensure cleanlin ess and hygiene in the girls’ washrooms. Two separate dustbins for wet and dry waste management were also provided to ‘Parshuram Chhatravas’, Dattnagar, being run under the aegis of Himgiri Kalyan Ashram.
At Attunli Hydro Electric Project, dustbins were provided in the project-affected villages of Maliney and Attunli, along with Government Primary Schools at Attunli and Maliney. Sanitary napkins were also distributed among women and girls of the villages.

As part of ongoing ‘Swachhata Pakhwada 2026’, at Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, an Awareness Camp was organized on waste segregation in Koyal village, located within Gadej Gram Panchayat.
At Luhri Hydro Electric Project Stage-I, a Painting Competition on theme of Cleanliness Awareness was organized for students at Government Senior Secondary School, Nirath.
At Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project, Sanitation material was provided to Government Senior Secondary School, Khaira, to ensure proper maintenance and hygiene of the girls’ toilet.
At Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Project, Cleanliness Awareness Campaigns were organized in project-affected areas through Mobile Medical Units at various locations. Sanitation material was also provided for maintaining hygiene in girls’ toilets at Government Senior Secondary School Choru and Government Senior Secondary School Karot.
At Attunli Hydro Electric Project, Arunachal Pradesh, sanitation material was provided to sanitation workers and cooking staff. An awareness session was also conducted on maintaining hygiene and ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
