Shaurya Chakra awardee Amit Kumar Rana, a highly decorated Marine Commando (MARCOS) of the Indian Navy, has tragically lost his life in a road accident. 😢
A native of Khundian in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district, Rana was renowned for his extraordinary courage, unwavering dedication, and distinguished service in some of the country’s most challenging counter-terrorism operations.
During Operation Danna, he displayed exceptional bravery by neutralising a terrorist at close range while providing cover to Lieutenant Commander Mahesh Kumar, enabling the successful elimination of another terrorist during the encounter.
In Operation Shok Baba, Rana volunteered to advance under intense enemy fire and place an improvised explosive device (IED) on a heavily fortified terrorist hideout. The daring mission led to the elimination of three terrorists and stood as a testament to his fearless commitment to duty.
Heartfelt tributes to the brave son of Himachal. May his soul rest in peace, and may his sacrifice and legacy continue to inspire generations to come. Jai Hind. 🇮🇳
