For decades, India’s street vendors kept our cities running, yet remained outside the fold of formal credit and recognition.

Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, PM SVANidhi brought India’s smallest entrepreneurs into the mainstream of the nation’s growth story.

Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, the scheme has empowered over 75 lakh street vendors with collateral-free credit, formal identity and opportunities to grow their businesses. More than 112 lakh loans worth over ₹17,800 crore have been disbursed, helping vendors become self-reliant micro-entrepreneurs.

From financial inclusion to digital empowerment, PM SVANidhi is transforming lives and strengthening the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat where every livelihood is valued with dignity and opportunity.

With the successful completion of the District Training Programme in Ri Bhoi, we have culminated another important chapter of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Prashikshan Mahabhiyan 2026.

Over the past month, karyakartas across Meghalaya have come together for organisational strengthening, ideological orientation, and leadership development, reaffirming our commitment to building a stronger and more empowered party at the grassroots.

With Ri Bhoi marking the conclusion of this statewide training initiative, we are proud of the enthusiasm, discipline, and commitment demonstrated by our karyakartas across every district of Meghalaya. We are especially encouraged by the appreciation expressed by our State Prabhari, Shri Anil K. Antony, for the successful conduct of this month-long programme, which has further strengthened our organisational foundation and prepared a new generation of leaders for the future.

Along with Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Conrad K. Sangma, Hon’ble Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the Integrated Sports Indoor Hall in Shillong and witnessed the historic signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IOA and the Government of Meghalaya for hosting the 39th National Games in 2027.

Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, sports infrastructure across the Ashtalakshmi states has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past 12 years, empowering youth and strengthening India's sporting ecosystem.

The hosting of the National Games marks a historic milestone for Meghalaya and reflects the growing prominence of the Northeast on the national sporting map.

The programme focused on organisational strengthening, ideological orientation, and grassroots capacity building under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya framework, empowering karyakartas and nurturing future leadership across Meghalaya.

Sessions during the training highlighted the party’s core ideological pillars of positive secularism, integral humanism, and cultural nationalism, while also providing detailed insights into various Central Government schemes, national challenges, BJP’s rich organisational journey, and the role of karyakartas in strengthening the party’s grassroots presence across the state.
