In East Khasi Hills District, the CM Headman Fellowship continues to strengthen last-mile healthcare delivery through grounded community engagement and systems alignment.
The visit began at the Transit Home of Khrang PHC, where a resident mother’s experience highlighted the importance of safe spaces that ensure consistent nutrition and access to maternal care—especially for those from remote areas.
At the Khrang Community Hall, the Three Pillars of the Health Tour—Maternal Health, Infant Health, and Adult Male Health—were shared with the community, setting the stage for meaningful dialogue.
Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) revealed deeply rooted cultural beliefs and practices around pregnancy, childbirth, and child care. These insights underscored the importance of designing interventions that are culturally sensitive, while addressing misconceptions that may impact health outcomes.
At Swer PHC, engagements with frontline workers and community members reinforced the role of primary healthcare systems in bridging access gaps and ensuring continuity of care.
The visit concluded at the Block Office, aligning grassroots learnings with administrative priorities—strengthening convergence, accountability, and sustained impact through the CM Headman Fellowship.
