On the 30th of October 2025, Internal Complaint Committe(ICC) of Anthropological Survey Of India, NERC, Shillong organised a talk on the topic "Laws and Procedures: Sexual Harrassment in the Workplace: Vishaka Guidelines against Sexual Harrasment in the Workplace". The talk aimed at fostering a healthy work environment, sensitising the employees of the legal procedures for preventing the sexual harrasment, and comply to institutionalised approved mandates and behaviour in a legally appropriate way.
The talk was delivered by Ms Iaimanda Ryngksai who is the state cordinator for North East Network, Meghalaya and the external member of ICC, AnSI, NERC. She is an active speaker, chief guest and panelist in different events and regional workshops and has been known to address issues like women empowerment, gender equality, sustainable development, gender-based violence and women's health care practices.
The program was led by Ms Juliet Paswett, Office Superintendent while the introductory welcome speech about the speaker was given by Dr. Chhandita Basu, Anthropologist (Cultural). The program ended with the vote of thanks by Shri Indranil Biswas, Assistant Anthropologist (Cultural)

Anthropological Survey of India, North-East Regional Centre is observing the National Vigilance Week from 27th October to 2nd November 2025 under the theme "Vigilance: Our shared responsibility". On the 27th of October 2025 , the program was inaugurated with the pledge-taking event by the staff members at 11am. The introductory speech was given by Smt. Elizabeth Lallawnkim, Senior Statistical Officer, while the integrity pledge-taking was led by Dr. Chhandita Basu, Anthropologist(Cultural), thereby marking the beginning of celebration of National Vigilance Week

Prof. B.V Sharma, Director of Anthropological Survey of India (AnSI) visited the AnSI NERC, Shillong on 15th and 16th October 2025. A meeting with the officials of Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Government of India (Civil and electrical) was conducted to review the ongoing repairing and maintenance of Office building and electrical at the regional Center. During the visit, Prof B.V Sharma also chaired a staff meeting where he interacted with all the staff members and offered words of encouragement. The ongoing research projects and administrative issues were also discussed in the meeting.

Prof. BV Sharma, Director of Anthropological Survey of India, delivered a special lecture at North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, reflecting on "Elwin’s contribution to Indian Anthropology—a critical note on his ethnographic writing" on 15.10.2025. The event, organized by Department of Anthropology, NEHU, marked the culmination of the NEC-funded project “Revisiting the Life and Works of Verrier Elwin in North-East India” and featured engaging dialogue with PG and research scholars afterward. The Scientific staff of AnSI, NERC, Shillong also participated in the programe along with Dr. Santanu Mitra, S.A., Head of Office.
