Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 🌱

The spirit of Swachhata took a greener form at the NEC Secretariat on Gandhi Jayanti, as officials and staff came together for a plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.

With every sapling planted, the initiative added to the green cover while carrying a simple message of care, gratitude and responsibility towards nature.

A meaningful gesture for today, and a greener legacy for tomorrow.

Celebrating Nagaland’s Coffee Story! ☕

International Coffee Day 2026 was observed in Kohima on 1 October by the Directorate of Land Resources, Government of Nagaland, celebrating the state’s emerging identity as a coffee destination.

Held on the theme “Coffee is Part of the Solution,” the event marked a significant step towards positioning coffee as a key USP of Nagaland.

Hon’ble MLA and Advisor, Land Resources, Government of Nagaland, Shri G. Ikuto Zhimomi, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr. Sentitula, Director (Tourism & Industries), NEC, and other distinguished guests were also present.

As part of the ongoing Hindi Pakhwada celebrations, the NEC Secretariat organised a Hindi workshop aimed at encouraging the use of Hindi in official communication and day-to-day work.

The workshop was led by Shri S. K. Singh, Assistant Director (Language), Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The interactive session provided an opportunity for participants to engage, learn and strengthen their understanding of the practical use of Hindi in official work.

The session was informative and engaging, reflecting the spirit of Hindi Pakhwada and its emphasis on promoting the effective use of Hindi in official communication.

An interactive session on Swachhata, rainwater harvesting and responsible waste management was held at the NEC Secretariat, promoting awareness and sustainable practices in everyday life.

The session was led by Shri R. K. Polendro Sana, Executive Engineer (Civil), NEC; Shri Richard J. Lalnunkima, Deputy Adviser (Information & Public Relations); and Dr. Sentitula, Director (Tourism & Industries).

Key themes included water conservation, rainwater harvesting, waste segregation, recycling, reducing plastic use, and maintaining clean surroundings.The session emphasised that small, responsible actions can create a lasting impact towards a cleaner, greener and more sustainable environment.

Digii100x East India, an invite-only regional higher education leadership forum, was held on 29 September 2026 at Taj Bengal, Kolkata, bringing together eminent leaders from academia, industry and government to discuss the evolving landscape of higher education, technology and digital growth across Eastern and Northeastern India.

The inaugural panel brought together Shri Parthiv Neotia, Managing Director, Ambuja Neotia Group – Healthcare Vertical; Shri Subrata Gupta, Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of West Bengal; Shri Katikithala Srinivas, Secretary, MDoNER, GoI; Shri Kishor Barman, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Government of Tripura; Shri Jagannath Chattopadhyay, Minister in Charge, Higher Education, Technical Education, Training and Skill Development, Government of West Bengal; Shri Raju Basnet, Minister, Education, Government of Sikkim; Shri Anandrao Vishnu Patil, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Education, GoI; Shri Hemant Sahal, Founder & CEO, Digii; Shri Ravindra Chamaria, Chairman & Managing Director, Infinity Group; and Shri Sanjay Budhia, Managing Director, Patton Group.

Smt Sherry Lalthangzo, Economic Adviser, NEC, attended the forum along with the Director, HRD, NEC, and other distinguished guests.

The forum provided a platform for meaningful dialogue on strengthening education ecosystems, embracing digital transformation and creating new opportunities for learners and institutions across the region.
