Thiwa V/A refutes self-styled press statement

Senapati, 30 Mar:

According to a press statement, K. Mangan, Chairman and Village Authority of Thiwa Village have strongly refuted the press statement carried in the Sangai Express, and clarified that there is no village called Theiva Headman/Chairman in the Thiwa (Dapei) Village. The Thiwa (Dapei) is the only village recognised by the govt. of Manipur and the govt. of India.

It is also urged any individual, group or organisation not to mistake the village for another village of Tangkhul tribe.

Thiwa (Dapei) villagers are practicing the culture and tradition of Poumai Naga since time immemorial.

Thiwa (Dapei) is speaking a mother language of Khongdei circle language. Khongdei circle is solely/purely Poumai Naga, it stated.

H L. Ruichumhao is unrecognized and self styled Theiva Headman. The Title of Chairman of Thiwa (Dapei) village is undisputedly reserved for Poumai Naga villager.

It is further stated that K. Mangan is the true chairman of Thiwa (Dapei) village. The name of Thiwa (Dapei) village is recognised by the Khongdei Circle, Poumai Naga Union, NPO Senapati and the District Magistrate, Senapati.
