As part of the celebrations marking the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, “Bharat Bharathi” (Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat) organized the grand Bharat Ekta Diwas 2026 (National Unity Day) at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds, Hyderabad, on 31 May 2026.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Culture, Govt of India, Chief Guest, Sri N. Ramchander Rao, President of the Telangana State BJP, along with Sri Govind Laljibhai Dholakia and Sri Vinay Patrale, National President of Bharat Bharathi. The programme witnessed the participation of several distinguished dignitaries, including Sri Purushottam Rupala, Jagannath, and Dr. Meenakshi Padmanabhan, who attended as Guests of Honour.
On this prestigious occasion, Dr. B. V. Ram Kumar , Director of National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities ( ), was conferred with the “ ” Award in recognition of his exemplary leadership, excellence, and dedicated services to the Institute and the disability sector. The award was presented by Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Culture, Govt of India felicitated with a shawl and memento.
Adding vibrancy to the celebrations, trainees from the SEC and DAIL programmes of NIEPID participated in cultural performances and showcased a variety of vocational end products, highlighting their talents, skills, and achievements.
The event brought together more than 1,000 participants from diverse backgrounds across the country, reflecting the spirit of national unity, inclusion, and social harmony envisioned by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The celebrations served as a powerful platform to promote the ideals of “Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat” and recognize outstanding contributions to nation-building and social development.
