It is the oldest Institution of Vindhya region and was established by Govt. It is presently an associated college of Rajiv Gandhi Technical University Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The Institute offers four Bachelor Degree Programmes in Civil (60), Mechanical (60), Electrical (40) and Electronics & Telecommunication (60) Engineering with total 220 intake. The institute also offers the Part time degree p
rogramme in second shift for diploma holder field engineers in Civil (20), Mech (20) and Electrical Engineering Branch (20) with total intake of 60. The institute campus have a beautiful Central Institution Building, Computer Centre, Workshops, ,Canteen, Athletic & Sports Grounds, Hospital, Staff Quarters & general amenities like Post Office, Bank and Guesthouse spread over in a vast area of 250 acres, where students enjoy healthy and competitive environment. The institute has 4 hostels (2 boys & 2 girl hostels) with a capacity of 306 with excellent food and lodging facilities, with internet connectivity. The Institute library has a collection of more than 53000 books and back volume journals of Technical, Scientific and General subjects, Video CD and Video Lectures series in different subjects and these are computerized on modern line, More than 14 current National & International journals are subscribed. Good numbers of back volume journals in hard copies and online are available. The Library remains open from 10.30 AM to 5.30 PM on all working days. A separate Book Bank has been setup for SC & ST category student consisting of large number of books, through which textbooks are provided on long-term basis to these students.The entire campus is networked with 2 Mbps lease line at 250 nodes. The Institute has very good groups of faculty having Ph.D from premier Institutes like IIT’s. All the faculties are provided with Desktop and laptop facilities. The lectures can also deliver through multimedia projection devices whenever required. The new faculties have also been trained for effective teaching by WIPRO Technology Pune under Mission10X programme. The students of Institute hold positions in top 10 Rank in university examinations. The students from Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering secured the 1st Rank in Final year university results of RGPV university, Bhopal in Year 2008. The Institute has Microsoft certified training center. The Rajiv Gandhi State Technical University, Bhopal is establishing the University Regional Center in college premises. The Institute has been selected as a networking Institution under World Bank funded Government of India Project on Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) (2002-2007). The institute has strengthened its infrastructural and laboratory facilities and have established the new Central Computer centers (100 Terminals), Departmental computer Centers, Seminar Hall, e-class rooms using world bank funds. The national level magazine competition success review have carried out the survey of top 100 Engineering college of country (CSR-GHRDC survey) and ranked institute at 65th position in 2010 and 96th position in 2011.
