📌Inspection of JJM Scheme Site at Namonigaon, Rangapara

Shri Pramod Sharma, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, CDC Office, Rangapara, visited the under-construction JJM Scheme site at Namonigaon near Buddha Mandir, Rangapara. During the inspection, it was observed that the work had remained stagnant for the last two years.
The Assistant Commissioner directed the contractor to immediately resume the pending work and ensure its timely completion. In response, the contractor assured that the construction work would recommence from 1 July and would be carried forward to completion at the earliest.

📌Meeting on Non-Functional JJM PWSS Schemes.

A review meeting on non-functional JJM PWSS schemes was held at the CDC Office, Rangapara, under the chairmanship of Smti. Sanskriti Somani, IAS, Co-District Commissioner, Rangapara. The meeting was attended by Sri Pramod Sharma, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, BDO Rangapara, BDO Balipara, EE PHE, and officials from APDCL, PWD (Roads), and other concerned departments.
The status of non-functional JJM PWSS schemes was reviewed, and issues related to power connectivity, road crossings, and other technical bottlenecks were discussed. Concerned departments were directed to take necessary corrective measures in a time-bound manner to make the schemes functional at the earliest and ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply to beneficiaries.

📌Meeting with PHC Officials
A meeting was held at the CDC Office, Rangapara, under the leadership of Sanskriti Somani, IAS, Co-District Commissioner, Rangapara, along with Pramod Sharma, ACS, Assistant Commissioner.
The meeting was attended by the SDMHOs of Rangapara and Balipara and focused on the following key issues:
1.Promotion and awareness of the HPV vaccination programme.
2.Awareness and promotion of mushroom cultivation as a livelihood initiative.
3.Aadhaar enrollment of pregnant women in tea garden areas.
4.Review of ongoing public health activities and strengthening inter-departmental coordination.
5.Strategies to improve community outreach, service delivery, and implementation of government welfare schemes.
The officials deliberated on measures to enhance awareness, ensure better coverage of target beneficiaries, and strengthen monitoring and coordination at the field level.

📌Inauguration of Plastic Waste Collection and Management System at Borjuli Panchayat

The Plastic Waste Collection and Management System was inaugurated at Borjuli Panchayat in Rangapara Co-District under the Rangapara Development Block. The initiative aims to improve plastic waste management, promote environmental sustainability, and enhance cleanliness within the community.

The programme was attended by Shri. Pramod Sharma, Assistant Commissioner (ACS), the Block Development Officer (BDO), the Assistant BDO, the Panchayat President, and other officials and community representatives.

The dignitaries highlighted the importance of proper collection, segregation, and disposal of plastic waste and encouraged active public participation to ensure the success of the initiative.

Shri Pramod Sharma, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, CDC Rangapara, conducted a site visit to Harchura Tea Estate to inspect the construction of the Community Hall and assess the quality of work being executed. During the visit, he thoroughly examined various components of the construction, including the structural framework, quality of building materials being used, workmanship, adherence to approved specifications, and overall progress of the project. He interacted with the concerned officials, executing agency representatives, and site personnel to obtain updates on the status of the work and to ensure that construction activities were being carried out in accordance with the prescribed standards and guidelines. He emphasized the importance of maintaining quality, ensuring timely completion of the project, and adhering to all safety measures at the construction site. Necessary observations and suggestions were conveyed to the concerned stakeholders for further improvement and effective implementation of the project.

In view of the ensuing HSLC Compartmental Examination, 2026 scheduled from 29th May to 5th June, 2026, prohibitory restrictions have been imposed within Sonitpur district to ensure the free, fair and peaceful conduct of the examinations.

📍 Key Restrictions:
▪️ No gathering of unauthorized persons within 100 metres of examination centres
▪️ Strict prohibition on carrying mobile phones, smart watches, electronic gadgets, scanners, Bluetooth devices, textual materials and other prohibited items inside examination halls

👮 The order shall remain in force throughout the examination period. All concerned are requested to cooperate with the administration and maintain decorum around examination centres.
