*Stresses 100% Coverage of Nomadic and Migratory Population*

RAJOURI, MAY 31: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today chaired a review meeting to assess the preparedness for Census 2027 and review the action plan for ensuring 100 percent coverage of the nomadic and migratory population during the first phase of the Census operation, which is scheduled to commence from tomorrow.

*The meeting focused on the arrangements being put in place for the smooth conduct of census activities across the district, with special emphasis on reaching nomadic and migratory communities residing in remote and seasonal locations.*

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned officers to ensure close coordination and meticulous planning so that no eligible individual is left out of the enumeration process. *He stressed the importance of accurate and comprehensive data collection, describing the Census as a crucial exercise for evidence-based planning and development.*

*The DC instructed field functionaries to identify and map migratory routes, seasonal settlements and temporary habitations of nomadic families to facilitate their complete coverage during the first phase*. He emphasized that special efforts should be made to reach these populations in a timely manner and ensure their inclusion in the Census database.

The meeting was attended virtually by District Census Officer/Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, all Additional Deputy Commissioners, ACR Rajouri, SDM Thanamandi, Chief Education Officer, Divisional Forest Officers, Chief Agriculture and Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Information Officer, all Tehsildars and Executive Officers of Municipal Committees.

*DC Rajouri reviews arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha*

‎‎‎‎RAJOURI, MAY 22: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the Eid-ul-Azha festival in the district. The meeting was attended by district and sectoral officers, besides prominent members of civil society.

‎‎The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for effective traffic management during the festival to avoid congestion, particularly around mosques, Eidgahs and marketplaces. He directed the concerned enforcement departments to conduct regular market checking drives to curb overpricing and ensure availability of quality edible items.

‎‎The Deputy Commissioner also directed the concerned departments to maintain adequate stock of essential commodities and ensure the availability of ambulances and emergency medical care facilities during the festive days.

Stressing the importance of public hygiene and sanitation, he instructed the Municipal Committee to make proper arrangements for prompt disposal of waste and maintain cleanliness around mosques, Eidgahs and other congregational places.

‎‎Similarly, the Executive Engineers of PDD and Jal Shakti departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during Eid-ul-Azha. The District Sheep Husbandry Department was also instructed to organise pashu melas at different locations across the district to facilitate availability of sacrificial animals.

‎‎The DC called upon all departments to work in close coordination to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations of Eid-ul-Azha across the district.

RAJOURI, MAY 20: District Development Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today chaired a Public Outreach Camp at Panchayat Siot Upper to listen to the public grievances and review developmental requirements of the area.

The outreach programme witnessed active participation from senior district officers, sectoral heads and a large number of local residents, who projected various issues and demands related to infrastructure, education, healthcare and basic amenities.

Among the major demands highlighted by the public were renovation of roads from Siot to Bajwal, Bakhar to Channi, Khui Teri and Peer Khana, bus service between Sunderbani to Rajouri and vice versa besides the upgrading of Channi Mella road. The residents also demanded construction of check dams at Bakhar, augmentation of drinking water supply, upgradation of Higher Secondary School Siot, filling up of vacancies in medical and educational institutions and strict action against illegal mining activities in the area.

The DDC patiently listened to the grievances and demands projected by the people and issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for prompt redressal of genuine issues. He assured the public that all legitimate concerns would be taken up in a phased manner and every effort would be made to ensure balanced and inclusive development of the area.

The DDC emphasized the importance of close coordination between the administration and the public for effective implementation of welfare and developmental initiatives. He also directed officers to undertake regular field visits and ensure timely disposal of public grievances.

On the occasion, different government departments installed awareness stalls showcasing various beneficiary-oriented schemes and programmes aimed at sensitizing the public about government welfare initiatives and services.

Concerned officers also responded one by one to the issues and demands raised by the public and apprised the gathering about the measures being taken for their resolution, ongoing developmental works and future action plans in their respective sectors.

Besides, a Self-Enumeration Booth under Census 2027 was also set up to facilitate and educate the public about the ongoing self-enumeration process and encourage wider participation in the national exercise.

Mission YUVA implementation reviewed in Rajouri

ADDC asks Banks to expedite disbursement of approved cases

RAJOURI, MAY 16: A meeting to review the performance of banks and Business Help Desks (BHDs) under Mission YUVA was today chaired by District Nodal Officer Mission YUVA (ADDC) Malikzada Sheraz Ul Haq here at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex Rajouri.

The District Nodal Officer took a detailed review of the progress achieved by different bank branches in sanctioning and disbursement of approved Mission YUVA cases. He expressed concern over the unsatisfactory performance of certain bank branches and directed them to improve their performance. Specific targets were assigned for sanctioning of pending cases within a stipulated time frame.

The Cluster Head JK Bank and the Lead District Manager (LDM) were directed to ensure immediate improvement in the functioning of all bank branches.

The ADDC also directed the BHD Nodal Officers to regularly hold screening meetings of Mission YUVA cases in the presence of concerned bank officials to ensure proper processing and timely disposal of cases.

He stressed upon all stakeholders to work in close coordination for effective implementation of Mission YUVA and achievement of the targets set under the scheme.

The meeting was attended by ACR Mohammad Jahangir Khan; District Employment Officer Mohammad Nawaz; DSHO, CAO, AD Fisheries, Lead Bank Manager and other district and sectoral officers.

*Pushes for Digital Education, Infrastructure Development*

RAJOURI, MAY 16: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today inspected Government Middle School Bassali, located near the Line of Control in Doongi Zone and interacted with students and staff members during the visit.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the overall functioning and infrastructure of the school and held a detailed interaction with the students, encouraging them to focus on education and make effective use of technology for learning and skill development.

As part of the Government’s Digital India initiatives, the Deputy Commissioner facilitated the installation of an LED system to provide digital learning opportunities to the students studying in remote border areas. “The initiative aims to connect students living in far-flung regions with the rest of the world through technology-based education and modern teaching methods,” the DC informed.

The students and staff of the school expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for visiting the institution and taking concrete measures for the welfare and educational upliftment of students in the border belt. The initiative was widely appreciated by locals, who termed it a positive move towards empowering students through modern education and improved infrastructure.
