Report on International Women’s Day Celebration at CRC Rajnandgaon

In collaboration with Kasturba Mahila Mandal and Indian Bank, the Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Rajnandgaon, under the administrative control of the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID), Secunderabad, organized a one-day program on the occasion of International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm and participation.

The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp accompanied by the devotional song Saraswati Vandana. The distinguished guests were warmly welcomed by Smt. Smita Mahobia, Director, CRC Rajnandgaon.

The chief guests and special guests present on the occasion included Padma Shri Smt. Phulbasan Yadav (Self help group president), Padma Shri Dr. Pukhraj Bafna, and representatives from Kasturba Mahila Mandal, Rajnandgaon – Mrs. Sharda Tiwari, Smt. Alka Jani, and their team.

During the program, the dignitaries delivered inspiring speeches highlighting the importance of women empowerment and the role of women in building an inclusive society. Divyang women also shared their experiences and motivational messages.

Students of D.Ed. IDD 2nd year presented a theme dance based on women empowerment, which was highly appreciated by the audience.

On this occasion, aids and appliances distribution were also carried out by CRC Rajnandgaon under the guidance of Ms. Chunmun Mohanty (Prosthetist & Orthotist). A total of 20 beneficiaries received assistive devices including one motorized tricycle, LS belts, knee braces, and walking sticks, which were distributed through the hands of the respected guests.

A special segment titled “Sashakt Divyang Mahila Samman Samaroh” was organized, where 11 empowered divyang women felicitation from different disability categories such as Intellectual Disability (ID), Locomotor Disability, Sickle Cell Disease, Hearing Impairment, and Down Syndrome were felicitated for their courage and achievements.

The program also included a fashion show based on the theme of famous female personalities and representation of different regional cultures of India, which added vibrancy and cultural diversity to the event.

Refreshments were arranged by Mrs. Mukta Sahu, and tea and biscuits were distributed to patients, beneficiaries, and staff members.

The anchoring of the event was conducted by Mr. Tarun, a 2nd year D.Ed. IDD student, who efficiently conducted the program.

The event concluded successfully with active participation from beneficiaries, staff members, students, and guests, making the International Women’s Day celebration meaningful and memorable at CRC Rajnandgaon.

International Wheelchair Day – Celebration Report ♿
CRC Rajnandgaon, under the administrative control of NIEPID Secunderabad, celebrated International Wheelchair Day with great enthusiasm, inclusivity, and community participation. The event brought together beneficiaries, students, staff, and guests for a full day of awareness-driven activities and engagement.
**Morning Session Activities*
1* . Wheelchair Race 🏁
A wheelchair race was organized in the first half of the program, where 8 participants displayed exceptional determination, mobility skills, and sportsmanship.
2. Target Toss Game 🎯
Following the race, a Target Toss Game was held with 9 enthusiastic participants, promoting coordination, focus, and recreation.

Refreshments were provided to all participants, beneficiaries, and students, marking a warm and inclusive conclusion to the program. A total of *80* participants were present in the program, including beneficiaries, staff, and students.

Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC), Rajnandgaon is organizing a 3-Day CRE Training Programme on NIEPID DISHA Curriculum.
In this regard, all Special Educators (Intellectual Disability) are hereby requested to kindly participate in the CRE programme.
Details of the CRE Programme are as follows:
1. 18 CRE Points will be awarded.
2. Accommodation along with meals will be provided to the participants.
3. Training will be conducted by trained Resource Persons.
4. Teacher manuals and book sets for children with Intellectual Disability will be provided.

Course: Diploma in Indian Sign Language Interpretation (DISLI)
Duration: 2 February 2026 to 28 February 2026 (One Month)
As a part of the academic curriculum, the second-year DISLI students of CRC Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh were deputed in groups for a compulsory one-month internship program at two government special schools. The first placement was at Shaskiya Shrawan Badhit Balika Vidyalaya, District Dhamtari, and the second at Shaskiya Shrawan Evam Drishti Badhit Uchchtar Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.
During the internship period, the trainees worked under the guidance of school authorities and teachers to conduct awareness programs among Hearing Impaired (HI) students regarding the importance and practical use of Indian Sign Language (ISL). They actively assisted in classroom teaching-learning activities and organized various curricular and co-curricular programs to enhance students’ communication skills.
The activities included practice of basic ISL signs, daily conversational skills, vocabulary building, sentence formation exercises, storytelling sessions, role-play activities, group discussions, visual-based teaching methods, game-oriented learning strategies, and creative interactive sessions. Special attention was given to ensuring active participation and confidence-building among the students.
The internship provided valuable real-life exposure to inclusive and special education settings. The trainees developed a deeper understanding of the communication needs, learning pace, and behavioral patterns of HI students. They also observed school management practices, classroom discipline strategies, and collaborative teaching approaches adopted in special schools.
Overall, the internship significantly enhanced the trainees’ professional competence, practical knowledge, communication abilities, teamwork, leadership qualities, and sense of responsibility. It proved to be a highly enriching experience that strengthened their preparedness to serve as skilled and sensitive Indian Sign Language Interpreters in the future.

Celebration of World Day of Social Justice

CRC Rajnandgaon Students Participation: Nukkad Natak (Street Play) on RPwD Act
On the occasion of World Day of Social Justice, Govt. Primary School, Khuteri, District Rajnandgaon, organized an awareness program to promote equality, inclusion, and social justice among students.
The program began with a welcome address by the Principal, highlighting the importance of social justice in building an inclusive and fair society. Teachers explained the meaning of equality, non-discrimination, and the rights of marginalized groups, especially persons with disabilities. Mrs. Anjali Pandey (Demonstrator) has been explained the services and Schemes offer at CRC Rajnandgaon for persons with disabilities.
A total of 80 students were present during the program. The main attraction of the celebration was a Nukkad Natak (Street Play) presented by first year students of DISLI course from CRC Rajnandgaon. The theme of the skit was the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act).
Through the street play, students beautifully depicted:
The rights of persons with disabilities
Importance of inclusive education
Equal opportunities in society
Removal of social barriers and discrimination
The performance effectively spread awareness about the RPwD Act and encouraged students to respect and support individuals with disabilities. The audience appreciated the confident performance and meaningful message delivered by the participants.
The entire awareness program was successfully coordinated by Mr. Prashant Meshram with supported Mrs Anjali Pandey. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, where teachers appreciated the efforts of CRC Rajnandgaon students and emphasized the need to practice social justice values in daily life.
The celebration was informative and inspiring, helping students understand their responsibilities in promoting equality and building an inclusive society.

एन.आई.ई.पी.आई.डी., सिकंदराबाद द्वारा संचालित दिव्यांगजन कौशल विकास, पुनर्वास एवं सशक्तिकरण समेकित क्षेत्र केंद्र, ठाकुरटोला, राजनांदगांव में , श्रीमति स्मिता मोहबिया, सीआरसी निदेशक के निर्देशन में दिनांक 13/02/26 को, मातृ-पितृ पूजन दिवस श्रद्धा एवं उत्साह के साथ मनाया गया। कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य बच्चों में अपने माता-पिता के प्रति सम्मान, कृतज्ञता और संस्कारों की भावना को मजबूत करना था।
कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत दीप प्रज्वलन एवं स्वागत उद्बोधन से हुई। इसके पश्चात बच्चों ने अपने माता-पिता का तिलक लगाकर, पुष्प अर्पित कर एवं चरण स्पर्श कर आशीर्वाद प्राप्त किया। पूरे वातावरण में भावनात्मक एवं सकारात्मक ऊर्जा का संचार हुआ।
अभिभावकों ने भी इस पहल की सराहना की और इसे बच्चों के नैतिक एवं सांस्कृतिक विकास के लिए अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण बताया। कार्यक्रम के अंत में सभी को धन्यवाद ज्ञापित किया गया। गतिविधि एवं प्रार्थना करायी गई ,इस कार्यक्रम में दिव्यांग विद्यार्थी , उनके पालकगण,,Ded. के विद्यार्थी सम्मिलित हुए। ।कार्यक्रम का संचालन श्री मति मुक्ता साहू स्टाफ नर्स एवं श्रीमति प्रेरणा असैया, गतिविधि शिक्षिका द्वारा किया गया
