A Sanitation Review Meeting was held at Town Hall, Puri under the chairmanship of the Commissioner, PMC. The meeting focused on 100% waste collection, source segregation of household and commercial waste, and transportation of waste only to designated MCCs & MRFs.

Honouring Our Sanitation Heroes

10 Core Sanitation Workers and 1 PMAY beneficiary of Puri Municipal Corporation, under the Garima Scheme, were felicitated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha for their exemplary contribution and dedicated service during Holy Ratha Yatra 2026.

The felicitation took place at the 2nd National GARIMA Workshop on Ending Fatalities in Sanitation Work on 22nd August, recognising their commitment to safe, dignified and mechanised sanitation practices.

Continuing its massive citizen awareness campaign on safe septic tank and sewer line cleaning, Puri Municipal Corporation (PMC) has installed awareness hoardings at strategic locations across the city to promote safe sanitation practices and widely publicize the 14420 helpline.

PMC remains firmly committed to mechanized cleaning, zero fatalities, and the safety, dignity, and welfare of Core Sanitation Workers—the unseen heroes who keep our city clean and healthy.

Let us join hands to protect lives, use authorized sanitation services, call 14420 and make Puri a city of safe and responsible sanitation.

As part of the “Aainigat Safei, Surakhsita Safei” campaign, Puri Municipal Corporation conducted a sensitization meeting with PSSOs, Sewer & Cesspool Operators and Core Sanitation Workers (CSWs) on legal provisions, mechanized cleaning, safety protocols, PPE and safety devices, including the consequences of non-compliance.
PPE kits were also distributed to CSWs by the Joint Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner, Puri Municipal Corporation, reaffirming our commitment to safe cleaning, dignity and the protection of sanitation workers’ lives.
