National Cooperative Development Corporation, Regional Office, Pune organized NCDC Regional Awards 2025 prize distribution ceremony for Cooperative Societies of Goa State on 27.03.2026 at Goa State Cooperative Bank Ltd., Panaji. The inaugural event was led by Shri Girraj Agnihotri, Regional Director, NCDC, Pune. The occasion was graced by the presence of Shri Pandurang N. Kurtikar, Chairman, Goa State Coop. Bank Ltd. as Chief Guest while Shri Prakash Shankar Velip, Ex-Cooperation Minister & Education Minister, Goa and Shri Naveen Kumar, Managing Director, Goa State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. graced the event as Special Guests. Shri Girraj Agnihotri addressed the participants and highlighted that the objective of this programme is to honour and recognize cooperative institutions that have done good and commendable work in the cooperative sector. The award was presented to 8 cooperative societies of Goa in 4 sectors, namely, (i) Best Primary Agriculture Credit Cooperative Society (PACS), (ii) Best Fisheries Cooperative Society, (iii) Best Primary Cooperatives adopting the initiatives of Ministry of Cooperation & (iv) Best Women Cooperatives.

Shri Pandurang N. Kurtikar addressed all the representatives of the awardee societies and appreciated their efforts and achievements. He encouraged them to continue their good work with the same dedication and commitment for the growth of the cooperative sector. Shri Prakash Shankar Velip also addressed the members of the awardee cooperative societies and appreciated their consistent efforts and valuable contribution to the cooperative sector. He motivated the societies to continue working with sincerity, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility.

The award distribution ceremony concluded on a positive note with active participation from the awardee societies and other stakeholders. The participants expressed their appreciation for NCDC’s continued support and such initiatives, which encourage excellence and sustainable growth in the cooperative sector.

National Cooperative Development Corporation, Regional Office, Pune in collaboration with Crop Insurance Department, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India organized two training programmes on “Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana Scheme (PMFBY) & Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS)” for farmer members of Noyojit Laxmi Shetkari Utpadak Sahakari Sanstha Mydt., Laxminagar, Sangola (FPO) and Malshiras Taluka Shetkari Utpadak Va Prakriya Sahakari Sanstha Maryadit (FPO) on 16th & 17th March, 2026 respectively. The programme was organized at Auditorium of Shree Pandurang Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd., Shreepur, Solapur.

The inaugural event was led by Shri Girraj Agnihotri, Regional Director, NCDC, Pune and Shri Yashwant Kulkarni, Managing Director, Shree Pandurang Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd attended the event as Chief Guest. Shri Girraj Agnihotri addressed the participants and highlighted the purpose and relevance of the training while Shri Yashwant Kulkarni emphasized on the importance of such trainings and encouraged the participants to take part actively.

Shri Sachin Punekar, Director, Entrepreneurship Development, AFARM and Shri Umesh Palse, Solapur District Officer, Agriculture Insurance Company of India Ltd. delivered detailed sessions on “Provisions of the PMFBY/RWBCIS scheme, Crop Insurance concept, Documents required and enrollment channels, use of the National Crop Insurance Portal and the Farmers Mobile app, and online platforms like LMS and YouTube for Information and Grievance redressal mechanism” on both the days of training. The farmers were encouraged to register themselves under the schemes and take benefit of the services available to them. At the end of the training programmes participation certificates were distributed to the farmer members of the FPOs for encouraging them to keep participating in such training programmes.

The training programme received an overwhelming response from the participants.

A one-day training programme on “Model Byelaws and Cooperative Governance” for Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) Personnel was organized on 29th August 2025 at Maharashtra Rajya Sahakari Sangh Ltd., Pune. The programme was conducted by Laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research and Development (LINAC), Regional Training Centre, NCDC, Pune with the objective of enhancing awareness and strengthening governance practices in PACS.

The inaugural event was led by Shri Girraj Agnihotri, Regional Director, NCDC, Pune. The occasion was graced by the presence of Shri Rajesh Survase, Additional Registrar, Cooperation Department, Govt. of Maharashtra and Shri Prakash Jagtap, District Deputy Registrar, Pune (Gramin). Shri Girraj Agnihotri addressed the participants and highlighted the purpose and relevance of the training while Shri Rajesh Survase emphasized on the importance of such trainings and outlined various schemes of Maharashtra State Cooperation Department for upliftment of PACS. Shri Prakash Jagtap shared insights on initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation and underlined the significance of their adoption by PACS for sustainable growth.

Shri Ramesh Bande, Coordinator, PACS Development Cell, Pune District Central Cooperative Bank delivered detailed sessions on “Model Byelaws” & “Cooperative Management and Financial Management” and explained how adoption of Model Byelaws would lead to improved governance at the primary cooperative level.
