What a pleasure it was....addressing students of SIBMs (Regular) & the Innovation & Entrepreneurship batches, of 2023 - 25, on Mon, 12 Jun '23, in the magnificent SIU auditorium.
Young minds, full of glee & gusto, were all raring to go.
I look at these "addresses" in a different way.
My 'connect' with the students, which actually began with the Admissions process, gets further solidified over their 2-years programme, which other than academics, also includes the hugely popular 'social' angle - the inter/intra debates, seminars, festivals etc.
This has been the case since 2007 & could anything be more gratifying?
Thank you - 'managers-to-be' of the morrow...your hard work will pay.

Another star singer of yester years, fades away....

'Sharda Rajan Iyengar', known professionally as "Sharda", was an Indian playback singer, most active in the 1960s & 1970s.
She won the Filmfare Award for 'Best Female Playback Singer', for the cabaret number, "Baat zara hai aapas ki", in "Jahan Pyar Miley", though she is most remembered for her song, "Titli Udi" in "Suraj", which was offered to her, by film maker Raj Kapoor, after he heard her sing at a function in Tehran. Over the years, she had collaborated with famed Shankar-Jaikishan duo & delivered several hit songs.
Many of us would remember her....

RIP, Sharda.

In Nakuru, Kenya, the sight of the gorgeous roses in the Rose farms, was a sight to behold.
One was always aware, that roses, their plantation, care, grafting, segregation, packaging etc. is a complex process, more so, when the roses in the farms in Nakuru, are not for local sale, but only exported to all corners of the world, but what one was not honestly aware of, were the technicalities, that went into the process.
Our friends in Nakuru - & whose hospitality we cherished & were bowled over by - are professionals to the core - the number of rose farms they own - is jaw dropping & the enormity of the process, is stunning to say the least.
Ritu went completely overboard, when she saw the rose varieties & wished she could carry some to India, which our friend Girish, would have made arrangements for as well, provided we were going straight back to India - which was not the case - as we were flying back to Doha & the rules & regulations for the carriage of flowers, is an entirely different process in that country - so that was it!
No roses could be taken.
Flower (read rose) lovers, will enjoy the pics.
