Sipna - A Man Made Jungle Sipna is a 21 acre private sanctuary established by Mr.Pramod Nargolkar. Mr.Nargolkar was passionate about flora and fauna right since his childhood days.

Located just 22 kms away from the city of Pune in Gorhe Khurd, the reserve is ideal for anyone who wants to be one with nature. Mr.Pramod Nargolkar, a production engineer by profession invested more than 15 years in developing a 21 acre forest. Named Sipna, after a river in his favorite tiger reserve, Melghat , this private sanctuary is located just 22 kms from the city of Pune. While growing up i

n Mahad, he always saw his mother dedicating atleast two hours a day for her small yet blossoming backyard garden and nurturing every tree and plant as if they were her own children. Mr.Pramod, a wildlife photographer has developed this private forest with his own money without any financial donations from individuals or any organization. Today Sipna boasts of more than 200 species of insects, 26 butterflies, 14 snakes, 10 animals, 98 birds and over 22,000 trees which are collected from all over India. Today Pramod's wife, Nayana looks after this sanctuary and has opened it to the public.
