Project @ Poona School for Blind Girls-
At RCP Bavdhan Elite, our goal through this project was very clear !
To encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship in young visually impaired girls, helping them identify their strengths……whether skills or qualities; like focus, patience, and precision, Speed ……and use them to build independent futures.
Storytelling is the strongest motivator …. So we chose this path to inspire them… we shared the inspiring success story behind Annie : the braille Teaching / Learning device ; created by then a group of young engineering students who turned Student’s Idea into a very successful startup !! (It was a runaway hit and won huge funding from Shark Tanks, 50 states of US are using this gadget, it has created their market in European Countries and commemorated by Prime Minister of India)
To make this success story of students accessible, we printed it in Braille and gave each girl her own book to take home !!
Our programme “Kahani Annie Chi” at Poona School for Blind, Kothrud was in association with Entreprerana Foundation .
It included a powerful demonstration of Annie ……
Neha, a visually-impaired student who learnt Braille on Annie by herself, read the Braille storybook so fluently.
