The Headquarters of IRP 23rd Battalion, Lethpora, witnessed yet another vibrant cleanliness drive today as part of the ongoing Safai Abhiyan, now continuing for the 13th straight day. Officers and jawans from every rank joined hands with remarkable enthusiasm to ensure that the premises remain neat, hygienic, and well-maintained.
Commanding Officers, while commending the participation of the personnel, underlined that maintaining cleanliness is not just a responsibility but also a living symbol of discipline, order, and commitment to collective well-being.
What started as an initiative has gradually transformed into a valued tradition within the battalion, nurturing a spirit of unity and teamwork. A participant noted that such drives inspire everyone to protect their health and dignity by safeguarding their surroundings.

آج مورخہ ۲۹؍ ستمبر ۲۰۲۵ کو آئی آر پی ۲۳ویں بٹالین، لیتھ پورہ، پلوامہ کے ہیڈکوارٹرز میں جاری صفائی ابھیان کے بارہویں مسلسل دن کے موقع پر صفائی کے جذبے سے سرشار ایک خصوصی مہم کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ اس مہم میں تمام رینکس کے افسران و اہلکاروں نے غیر معمولی جوش و خلوص کے ساتھ حصہ لیا اور یونٹ کے احاطے میں صفائی، صحت و صفائی کے بہترین معیار کو برقرار رکھنے کے لیے بھرپور محنت کی۔
کمانڈنگ افسران نے اہلکاروں کی انتھک محنت اور وابستگی کو سراہتے ہوئے کہا:
“صفائی نہ صرف ایک ذمہ داری ہے بلکہ ہمارے نظم و ضبط اور کردار کی علامت بھی ہے”۔
یہ صفائی ابھیان بٹالین کے اندر ایک مسلسل روایت کی شکل اختیار کر چکا ہے، جس سے ٹیم ورک، یکجہتی اور اجتماعی ذمہ داری کا جذبہ پروان چڑھ رہا ہے۔ ایک شریک اہلکار نے کہا:
“یہ مہم ہم سب کو ایک مقصد کے تحت متحد کر رہی ہے—اپنے ماحول کو صاف رکھ کر ہم اپنی صحت اور وقار کی حفاظت کرتے ہیں”۔
جیسا کہ ایک مشہور اردو مثل ہے:
“صفائی نصف ایمان ہے”۔

आज दिनांक 29 सितंबर 2025 को आईआरपी 23वीं बटालियन, लेथपोरा, पुलवामा के मुख्यालय में चल रहे सफाई अभियान के बारहवें लगातार दिन के मौके पर सफाई के उत्साह से भरा एक विशेष कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया। इस अभियान में सभी रैंक के अधिकारी और जवानों ने असाधारण जोश और समर्पण के साथ भाग लिया तथा यूनिट परिसर में स्वच्छता, स्वास्थ्य और सफाई के उच्चतम मानकों को बनाए रखने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत की।
कमांडिंग अधिकारियों ने जवानों की अथक मेहनत और समर्पण की सराहना करते हुए कहा:
“स्वच्छता सिर्फ एक जिम्मेदारी नहीं है, बल्कि यह हमारे अनुशासन और चरित्र की प्रतीक भी है”।
यह सफाई अभियान अब बटालियन में एक नियमित परंपरा का रूप ले चुका है, जिससे टीमवर्क, एकजुटता और सामूहिक जिम्मेदारी की भावना प्रबल हो रही है। एक प्रतिभागी ने कहा:
“यह अभियान हम सभी को एक उद्देश्य के तहत एकजुट कर रहा है—अपने परिवेश को साफ रखकर हम अपनी सेहत और सम्मान की रक्षा करते हैं”।
जैसा कि एक प्रसिद्ध हिंदी कहावत है:
“स्वच्छता आधा ईमान है”।

On the 11th consecutive day of the ongoing Safai Abhiyan, a spirited cleanliness drive was organized at the Headquarters of IRP 23rd Battalion, Lethpora, Pulwama. Headquarters IRP 23rd Battalion Lethpora launched a Cleanliness Drive (Swachhta Abhiyan) on 18th September 2025 for a weeks time at its Unit Headquarters and allied establishments.
During the drive, officers and personnel of the Battalion undertook extensive cleanliness measures which included removal of debris and waste, sanitation of premises, and proper disposal of waste as per environmental norms. Awareness among personnel regarding the importance of hygiene and cleanliness was also emphasized.
Quoting Mahatma Gandhi: “Sanitation is more important than independence.”
The drive also echoed the spirit of the famous Urdu couplet:
“صفائی نصف ایمان ہے،
گندگی سے بیزاری انسانیت کی پہچان ہے۔”
(“Cleanliness is half of belief, and detesting filth is the mark of humanity.”)
“جہاں صفائی ہے وہاں بیماری نہیں۔”
(“Where there is cleanliness, there is no disease.”)
In the spirit of these guiding thoughts, the Battalion reaffirmed its commitment to keeping its premises clean and motivating its personnel to imbibe cleanliness as a habit in their daily routines.

Final Assessment Test of 24th Batch Refresher Course at IRP-23rd Bn Lethpora
After the successful culmination of the one-month 24th Batch Refresher Course, 45 officers/officials of IRP-23rd Battalion participated in the Final Assessment Test held today under the supervision of Sh. Naseer Ahmad Khan, DySP.
The assessment included weapon handling, law & order management, parade, guard duties, physical endurance, and a written examination to test the knowledge of new laws and SOPs.

IRP-23rd Battalion organized an awareness programme on the Three New Criminal Laws at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Lethpora, on 11-09-2025 under the Civic Action Program. The event was held under the supervision of SSP Bakar Samoon-IPS(Commandant IRP-23rd Bn) with active participation of master trainers and Shri Syed Umar (PO, Prosecution Department).
The objective was to educate students on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam—emphasizing their role in promoting justice, safeguarding rights, and ensuring a fair legal process. Students actively engaged in discussions and pledged to become ambassadors of legal awareness in their communities.
The programme concluded with refreshments served to all students and staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Awareness Programme on New Criminal Laws for School Children Organized Under Civic Action Program at Govt. Higher Secondary School Lethpora.

As part of ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between law enforcing agencies and the local community, IRP-23rd Battalion organized an awareness programme on the Three New Criminal Laws at Government Higher Secondary School, Lethpora, today on 11.09.2025 under the broad umbrella of the Civic Action Program.
This community-oriented initiative was conducted under the direct supervision of Sh Bakar Samoon IPS SSP Commandant IRP-23rd Battalion, with active participation by master trainers of IRP-23rd Battalion and Shri Syed Umar (PO) from prosecution department.

The main objective was to educate school children about the newly enacted legal provisions—Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam—which have come into force as part of India’s modern justice reforms. Trainers presented the key features through PowerPoint presentations of these laws, emphasizing their role in promoting justice, safeguarding victims’ rights, and ensuring a more efficient legal process. Participants were encouraged to ask questions and engage actively to enhance their understanding.

Speaking at the event, SSP Bakar Samoon highlighted that knowledge of legal rights and responsibilities is fundamental for youth, stressing the importance of such initiatives in building a law-abiding and informed citizenry. The Civic Action Program continues to play a vital role in nurturing trust and cooperation between law enforcing agencies and local communities by organizing educational and welfare activities.

The programme concluded with students pledging to become ambassadors of legal awareness in their homes and neighbourhoods, extending the programme’s impact beyond the classroom. Additionally, refreshments were served to all children and staff present, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere throughout the programme.
