Girl Athletes Trained at Softball Cluster Club Pulwama highly thankful to DG YSS for providing free coaching as they Shine in Inter-District Provincial Level Softball Tournament

Young athletes trained under the banner of the Softball Cluster Club Pulwama have delivered a stellar performance at the ongoing Inter District Provincial Level Softball Tournament, showcasing exceptional grit, technical skill, and sportsmanship.
Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports ,the provincial level tournament brought together top district teams from across the Kashmir division to compete for top honors.
Representing District Pulwama, players nurtured by coach Imtiyaz Ahmad Pandit at the Softball Cluster Club stood out throughout the championship rounds. Their disciplined training, pitching precision, and strong field coordinations were key factors in delivering decisive performances against tough opposition.
Speaking on the performance, coaching officials attributed the success to months of dedicated daily practice sessions, rigorous conditioning camps, and consistent mentorship provided at the Cluster Club.
"The performances delivered by our players at the provincial level demonstrate the immense sporting talent present in District Pulwama. The commitment and hard work of these young athletes at the grass-roots levels are now translating into podium worthy achievements," stated sports officer Pulwama Jagdish Raj Sharma.
Pulwama softball U/14 girls team consistently controlled key matches through tactical gameplay and strong team sync.
The performance underlines the crucial role played by the Softball Cluster Club Pulwama in mentoring young
talent from various local schools and academies.

All the players in one voice were thankful to Director General youth service and sports Jammu and Kashmir Anuradha Gupta (IAS) for providing such a wonderful opportunity to undergo free coaching and training which is proving fruitful as the team beat Srinagar in a nail biting final at GDC Pulwama
moreover District officials, sports fraternity members, and local communities have commended the worthy Director General youth service and sports Jammu and Kashmir for establishing such a wonderful facility in the district to help the budding atheletes to improve their skills and congratuled the team and coaches for bringing laurels to the district, wishing them success in their future competitive outings.

Displaying exceptional grit, teamwork, and tactical prowess, the Pulwama Under-14 Boys Softball team registered a dominant campaign to secure top honours in the recently concluded Softball Championship final against Srinagar.
The tournament featured competitive teams representing various districts and institutions across the region, vying for the prestigious title. Throughout the championship, Team Pulwama set the benchmark in both offensive power and defensive ex*****on, outclassing opponents across all stages of the competition to lift the winner’s trophy. The squad maintained a flawless record throughout the tournament, demonstrating disciplined pitching, strong fielding coordination, and high-impact batting lines.
Individual brilliance complemented team synergy, with key players earning accolades for crucial home runs, sharp infield catches, and decisive pitching spells during knockout rounds.

Pulwama Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Great Energy and Patriotic Enthusiasm

The 80th Independence Day was celebrated across Pulwama district with immense patriotic fervor, grand ceremonial parades, and vibrant cultural presentations. The main district-level event took place at the District Police Lines (DPL) Pulwama, bringing together senior administrative officials, security forces, students, and local citizens to honor the nation's freedom movement.
The chief guest Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr.Basharat Qayoom unfurled the National Flag, took the salute at the grand march-past, and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices paved the way for a free
The parade featured disciplined contingents from the Jammu & Kashmir Police (JKP), Jammu & Kashmir Armed, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Home Guards, Fire & Emergency Services, NCC cadets, and student groups from local schools. The chief guest highlighted major socio-economic development initiatives across Pulwama, emphasizing advancements in educational infrastructure, public amenities, sports facilities, and youth engagement programs aimed at driving regional growth.
Cultural Showcase: Students and artists from the Department of Information, Department of Education, and Department of Youth Services & Sports delivered colorful performances featuring patriotic songs, traditional choreographies, and theatrical skits celebrating national unity and heritage.
The event concluded with an award distribution ceremony honoring the top-performing parade contingents, cultural troupes, outstanding student achievers, and prominent local social activists.
Simultaneous flag-hoisting ceremonies and celebrations were conducted across sub-divisional headquarters, block halqas, educational institutions, and government facilities throughout the district.

YSS Pulwama Organises Morning Run to sensitize public about the benifits of YOGA

The Youth Services and Sports Pulwama in collaboration with Ayush department today organized a morning run to sensitize the public about the benefits of yoga and promote a culture of fitness and wellness across the district. The event commenced from Women’s Degree College, Pulwama and culminated at Bonora Crossing.
Over 200 athletes, students, and local residents participated in the run, demonstrating strong community support for regular physical activity and holistic well‑being. The event featured runners from local schools, colleges, sports clubs, and departments, and was coordinated by the District Youth Services and Sports office Pulwama.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Youth Services Officer Manzoor Ahmad Najar said the initiative aimed to raise awareness about integrating yoga into daily life to improve physical fitness, mental health, and overall quality of life and encouraged participants to take part in regular yoga practice and other healthy habits as part of a sustained community effort.

DYSO PULWAMA ORGANISES INTER-ZONAL DISTRICT-LEVEL TABLE TENNIS, CHESS AND BADMINTON TOURNAMENTS

The District Youth Services and Sports Office Pulwama, today organised inter-zonal district-level tournaments in table tennis, chess and badminton at the Indoor Stadium Rajpora Pulwama. The events brought together talented youth athletes from across all the zone of the district to compete in a spirit of sportsmanship and healthy rivalry.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mir Iqbal District Sports Officer Pulwama who inaugurated the tournaments and delivered the opening remarks. Participants representing all zones of Pulwama district and competed across multiple age categories. Matches were officiated by certified referees and followed standard rules and safety protocols.

The outstanding performers will be the part of the district team at the next levels and also will be awarded medals, certificates, and trophies at the valedictory function scheduled for in the end of the event
