Public Statement on the Grave Situation at Poonch District Hospital🚨

It is with profound concern that we issue this statement regarding the deteriorating conditions and reported malpractice at the Government Hospital in District Poonch.

This hospital, established and funded by the Government of India, exists solely for the service and welfare of the public. It is not the personal domain of any individual, group, or vested interest. However, credible reports and disturbing testimonies indicate the existence of an unlawful nexus involving local intermediaries (“Dalals”), who, in alleged connivance with certain insiders, have compromised the hospital’s functioning and put innocent lives at risk.

Such actions not only undermine public trust in state institutions but also pose a direct threat to the right to life and health guaranteed under the Constitution of India. The reported incidents of preventable deaths are not mere administrative lapses—they are potential crimes against the people and a betrayal of the democratic mandate.

We call upon all responsible authorities—at both the Union and State levels—to take immediate cognizance of this issue. A thorough, independent inquiry must be initiated. Those found guilty—regardless of position or power—must face the full weight of the law. It is imperative that the hospital be restored to its rightful role: a space of healing, free from exploitation, corruption, or political manipulation.

The people of Poonch demand accountability. They deserve justice. And they await decisive action.

Let it be known: the health and dignity of citizens cannot be sacrificed at the altar of corruption or indifference. If governance means anything, it must mean the protection of life and the upholding of constitutional values.

We stand in solidarity with the people of Poonch and pledge to pursue this matter until justice is delivered and safeguards are firmly in place to prevent any recurrence.

Issued in the public interest.
