EDII Periyakulam & EDII Tamil Nadu successfully organized a 3-day Silage Making Training for rural women of Varusanadu Block, Theni, on 23rd–25th January 2026.
Participants received end-to-end hands-on training in traditional and manual silage preparation methods, enabling them to adopt low-cost livestock feed solutions. They also gained exposure to mushroom production at the Horticultural College & Research Institute, Periyakulam.
The silage preparation training was practically conducted at Beyondex Agro Tours, an organic agro-tourism farm and incubatee of EDII Periyakulam, providing real-time field learning experience.

EDII Periyakulam and EDII Tamil Nadu jointly organized a 3-day Focus Block Development Programme for Varusandu Block from 07.01.2026 to 09.01.2026 on herbal cultivation and value addition. Participants gained practical knowledge on herbal crops, especially moringa, and learned dip infusion preparation, processing, and packaging techniques. On the final day, they were trained in mushroom production and hands-on dip infusion preparation with quality standards.
Mr. Dharmadhurai, Business Manager, handled the technical sessions, while Mr. S. Vasanthan Cheif executive officer, EDII-Periyakulam Horti-Business Incubation Forum shared insights on market potential and export opportunities. The programme was effectively moderated by EDII TN DPM Mr. Sundareshwara
