On April 21, 2026, a Block Staff Meeting was organized at the Vikas Bhawan Auditorium. The agenda of the meeting included a detail review of the last FY progress and detailed discussions were held on planning for the current financial year. Targets for each activity were allocated to the block staff. The meeting was attended by the entire district team along with all three staff members from each of the 15 blocks.

On April 16, 2026, the Chief Development Officer (CDO) convened an important departmental meeting with Block Development Officers, where a detailed review of various development schemes was carried out. Special emphasis was placed on convergence-related activities, with progress assessments of the Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, CAP, HRDI, Tea Development Board, and Panchayati Raj departments. The CDO directed all concerned departments to prioritize the selection of works and ensure that the benefits of schemes reach genuinely needy individuals, while giving special priority to women Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The meeting further stressed the adoption of a coordinated approach, fostering better inter-departmental synergy, and ensuring effective implementation of schemes at the grassroots level.

Today, at Kandoliya Ground in Pauri district, the Forest Department organized a special training session for women from Pauri, Kot Pauri, and Khirsu blocks. The program focused on teaching practical techniques for resin extraction from chir pine trees.
The initiative aimed to empower local women by providing them with hands-on knowledge of sustainable forest-based livelihoods. Through this training, participants learned both the scientific process and traditional methods of resin tapping, along with safety measures and environmental considerations.
Such efforts not only enhance skill development but also open up new opportunities for income generation while promoting community participation in forest conservation.

A significant step forward towards strengthening rural entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods!

Today, Mr. Harsh*t Sahadev, Director of Himshakti, visited the Hilans Outlets at Vikas Bhavan, along with Bedu and Fruit Processing Unit of Umang Swayatta Sahakarita, Pauri Garhwal.
During the visit, he explored and tasted several of our locally developed value-added products, including Bedu Jam, Bedu Chutney, Malta Squash, and Buransh Squash.
Mr. Sahadev highly appreciated the dedication, innovation, and hard work of the team behind these unique Himalayan products. Impressed by their quality and authenticity, Himshakti has finalized a co-branding collaboration for Bedu Jam, Bedu Chutney, Malta Squash, and Buransh Squash. Within the coming days, the first batch of products will be dispatched to Himshakti, marking the beginning of this promising partnership.
This visit and collaboration reflect the growing recognition of local produce, women-led enterprises, and community-based business models emerging from the hills of Pauri Garhwal.
On this occasion, Business Promoter Mr. Aakash Gosain, Group Mobilizer Ms. Rashmi, and Processing In-charge Mrs. Aasha Devi were present and actively engaged in showcasing the production processes and products.
The visit was facilitated and the collaboration was finalized by AM Sales Gramothan, Mr. Aashutosh Kaushik, reinforcing the commitment to promote market linkages for rural enterprises.
Together, we move forward in empowering communities, strengthening local economies, and promoting sustainable livelihoods through indigenous Himalayan products.

Outlet of Hilans Products
At the entry gate of Vikas Bhawan, Pauri, the *Pauri Garhwal Farmer’s Producer Organisation* has setup a Hilans outlet of local products through convergence.
This highlights the *rich tradition and creativity* of local women’s groups, who have prepared a wide range of products with dedication and skill. The display not only reflects the region’s agricultural and cultural heritage but also *promotes self-reliance* and *empowerment* among rural women. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore authentic, locally made items that represent the essence of Garhwal’s craftsmanship and sustainable practices. The initiative aims to *encourage community participation, support local producers, and bring recognition* to the efforts of women-led groups.

जनपद पौड़ी गढ़वाल के विकासखंड पाबो के खुडेश्वर मैदान में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में मा. मंत्री डॉ. धन सिंह रावत जी द्वारा ग्रामोत्थान(रीप) परियोजना अंतर्गत पशु सखियों को स्मार्टफोन वितरण किए गए एवं लाभार्थियों को अलग-अलग गतिविधियों हेतु परियोजना सहयोग की राशि के चेक भी वितरित किए गए।

Initiative for Rural Innovation in Uttarakhand

A significant step towards strengthening rural livelihoods and scientific value addition was achieved today with the signing of a between Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Engineering & Technology Pauri Garhwal and Pauri Garhwal.
The MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) V.K. Banga, Director, GBPIET, and DPM, REAP Pauri. This collaboration will promote research, innovation, quality control, training and sustainable agro-processing, benefiting SHGs, CLFs, farmers and rural entrepreneurs, while also providing hands-on learning opportunities for students.
This partnership marks an important stride in giving new identity, science-backed value and market access to Uttarakhand’s hill produce.

On December 20, 2025, a departmental review meeting was held in the Vikas Bhawan auditorium under the chairmanship of the Chief Development Officer (CDO), in which the ongoing works under the Gramotthan Project (REAP), MGNREGA, and USRLM were reviewed.
During this, the DDO, PD-DRDA, BDOs, DPOs, BMMs, and the district as well as block-level teams of the Gramotthan project (REAP) were present.

The Pauri district has launched an innovative initiative to ensure full utilization of Malta fruit by using not just the pulp but also the peels to create income‑generating products. Under the REAP scheme and with support from the local federation, women are being trained to prepare bio‑enzymes, face wash, scrub, and marmalade from Malta peels, turning what was once waste into valuable items. The bio‑enzymes produced are completely chemical‑free and can be used as floor and toilet cleaners, plant boosters, and for pest and fungus control, offering an eco‑friendly alternative to chemical products. Alongside this, the federation is also producing 100% organic Malta juice without any chemical additives, purchasing Malta directly from villages at ₹15 per kilogram. This initiative not only promotes sustainability but also strengthens women’s participation and economic empowerment in the region.
