The Department of Biochemistry at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) successfully organized a one-day workshop on 'Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP)' on June 17, 2026. The workshop aimed to raise awareness among doctors and hospital staff regarding laboratory quality, patient safety, test reliability, and laboratory practices aligned with international standards. The event commenced with inaugural addresses by Director Prof. (Dr.) Binde Kumar, Prof. (Dr.) Preet Pal Singh, and Prof. (Dr.) Lalit Mohan. In their opening remarks, they highlighted the importance of quality laboratory services, noting that adherence to GCLP principles is a crucial step toward providing patients with accurate and reliable test results.
Dr. Ravi Shekhar served as the organizing secretary for the event. During the workshop, experts delivered lectures on various topics. Key speakers included Prof. (Dr.) Shailesh Kumar, Prof. (Dr.) Anju Singh, Prof. (Dr.) Jiutram Kesari, Additional Professor (Dr.) Pritam Prakash, Additional Professor (Dr.) Shweta Kumari, Associate Professor (Dr.) Archana Bharti, and Additional Professor (Dr.) Saurabh Kumar. The speakers provided detailed insights into vital subjects such as GCLP principles, quality management systems, documentation, internal and external quality control, biosafety, sample management, and data integrity.
