Pathanapuram (Malayalam: 'പത്തനാപുരം' Pathanāpuraṁ) is an administrative division (taluk) situated in the Western Ghats in the Kollam District of Kerala state of India. It covers a mountainous area of 248.32 km2 and has a population of about 160,000 people. ate, India. It is also known as Punalur-Pathanamthitta-Thodupuzha-Muvattupuzha Highway. Main Eastern Highway is categorized as State Highway - 08 ( SH-08 ) of Kerala. It is the second longest State Highway of Kerala covering a distance of 153.6 km. The districts it passes through are Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam. It interconnects the townships of Punalur, Pathanapuram, Konni, Pathanamthitta, Ranni, Manimala, Ponkunnam, Pala, Thodupuzha and Muvattupuzha. State Highway 5 (SH 5) is a State Highway in Kerala, India that starts in Kayamkulam and ends at Pallimukku junction. The highway is 42.5 km long. Kayamkulam - Kattanam - Nooranad junction - Adoor - Pathanapuram - Pallimukku junction (joins Main Eastern Highway (SH 8))

- 1.From Thiruvananthapuram: Proceed to Kottarakkara via Kilimanoor through M.C road and then turn right and proceed to Kunnicode through NH 208. From Kunnicode,take left to Pathanapuram (Distance 89 km). - You can also reach Pathanapuram via Punalur(Distance 88 km). - The shortest route from Thiruvananthapuram to Pathanapuram is via Kilimanoor, Valakom,Chengamanadu and Kunnicode (Distance 81 km)

- 2.From Ernakulam/Alappuzha/Kottayam: - From Ernakulam, proceed to Kayamkulam via Alappuzha through NH 47. From Kayamkulam, proceed to Pathanapuram via Adoor (Distance 152 km) - From Ernakulam, one can also proceed to Kottayam and then to Adoor through M.C Road and finally to Pathanapuram (Distance 147 km)

- 3. From Kollam : - From Kollam, proceed to Kunnicode through NH 208 and then take turn to Pathanapuram. - (Distance 44 km).

- 4. From Sabarimala/Munnar/Thekkady: - From Sabarimala, Munnar or Thekkady, proceed to Pathanamthitta and then to Pathanapuram via Konni. Sabarimala(89 km) is a famous pilgrim centre. Thekkady (132 km) and Munnar (230 km) are famous hill stations.

- 5. From Tenkasi: Proceed to Punalur through NH 208 and then to Pathanapuram(71 km).

കലഞ്ഞൂര്‍ ഇടത്തറ ജംഗ്ഷനില്‍ വച്ചാണ് വാവ സുരേഷ് ന് പാമ്പ് കടിയേറ്റത്. ഒരു വീട്ടില്‍ നിന്നും കുപ്പിയിലാക്കിയ അണലിയെ നാട്ടുകാര്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് വാവ പുറത്തെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇതിനിടെയാണ് വാവയുടെ കൈയ്യില്‍ കടിയേറ്റത്.

The Hill Highway or Malayora Highway or State Highway 59 (SH-59) is the longest state highway in Kerala. The proposed highway starts from Nandarapadvu in Kasaragod district to Parassala in Thiruvananthapuram district, will have a length of 1332.16 km. The expected outlay for the project is Rs.1,500 crore. The proposed highway would pass through areas including Bandhadkka, Malom, Chittarikkal, Alakode, Payyavoor, Ulikkal, Mananthavady, Kalpetta, Thiruvambady, Edakkara, Palakkad, Pattikkad, Neriamangalam, Kattappana, Mundakayam, Erumely, Ranni, Konni, Pathanapuram(😀👍), Punalur, Anchal, Kulathupuzha, Madathara, Palode and Vithura.
