Meaning=In a place which has no intellectuals, even an illiterate person gets respect just like a tree with lot of thorns is considered good enough on a barren land.

विद्वत्त्वं च नृपत्वं च नैव तुल्ये कदाचन ।
स्वदेशे पूज्यते राजा विद्वान् सर्वत्र पूज्यते ।।
Meaning=Do not compare an intellectual person with a king or a Political leader. A leader or a king will be respected only in his kingdom whereas a wise man will be respected at all places.

कालः सुप्तेषु जागर्ति कालो हि दुरतिक्रमः।।
Meaning= Time creates all beings and Time destroys all beings. Time is ever awake when whole universe sleeps. Time is responsible for every happening in this world, everything is dependent on Time so how can you ignore Time?

न दैवमिति संचिन्त्य त्यजेदुद्योगमात्मन: ।
अनुद्यमेन कस्तैलं तिलेभ्य: प्राप्तुमर्हति ॥
Meaning= Do not be dependent on fate. If you donot make efforts you cannot get anything. Only when you grind til, can you get oil out of it. In simple words, efforts pay off.

यदि काको गजेन्द्रस्य मलं कुर्वीत मूर्धनि ।
कुलानुरुपं तत्तस्य यो गजो गज एव स:॥
Meaning- You always find petty minded persons who criticize great personalities but such criticism will not affect a great man. Just like a crow sh*ts on elephant's trunk as per his nature. That act will not make the elephant low.

दुर्लभ: स गुरुर्लोके शिष्यचित्तापहारक:॥
Meaning=Worldly teachers will earn money from students. It is very rare to find a teacher who will also be concerned about his students's welfare and right values. Spiritual teachers were doing this in early ages but now it is difficult to find.

सर्वनाशे समुत्पन्ने ह्यर्थं त्यजति पण्डित: ।
अर्धेन कुरुते कार्यं सर्वनाशो हि दु:सह: ॥
Meaning=When a man is about to loose everything, then a wise person will sacrifice half and try and save the remaining . It is better to save some then loose everything. It is always good and wise to compromise .
