Today, BAC Rhenock proudly joined the state-wide launch of Mukhyamantri Jan Sambad, a new initiative connecting the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim directly with citizens through video conferencing.
Block Development Officers (BDOs) and beneficiaries of the Connect to CM scheme actively participated in the inaugural session.The program will be held every two months, ensuring new applicants can interact with the Hon’ble Chief Minister regularly. Citizens now have the opportunity to present their grievances, demands, and suggestions directly to the HCM.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister assured that all BACs, including Rhenock, will receive infrastructure upgrades to strengthen the video conferencing system.
The people of Rhenock and across Sikkim have warmly welcomed this initiative, recognizing it as a progressive step toward transparent, accessible, and participatory governance.

Rhenock BAC, 23rd January 2026:
Rhenock BAC celebrated the Pre–Republic Day Celebration cm Best Employee Award Programme in the presence of the Hon’ble Zilla Panchayat, Hon’ble Panchayat President, and Hon’ble Panchayat Members of all GPUs under Rhenock Block.

The programme was attended by the BDO, Rhenock, AD (PRI), AE, Rhenock BAC, Senior Accountant, Coordinator, Education Department, Rhenock Block, all Section Heads, and staff of Rhenock BAC.

During the programme, Best Employee Awards were conferred upon Shri Dichen Bhutia, Shri Aditya Pradhan, Smt. Sona Pem Bhutia, Shri Man Bdr. Chettri, Shri Dipesh Thapa, Shri Narendra Bhattarai, and Smt. Dhana Devi Sharma of Rhenock BAC, along with Shri Kumar Sharma of Rhenock GPU, Shri Indra Prasad Sanyasi of Sudunglakha GPU, Shri Krishna Dahal of Tarpin GPU, and Shri Madan Sharma of Aritar GPU, in recognition of their dedication, sincerity, and exemplary service.

The programme concluded with a note of appreciation, reinforcing the spirit of public service and commitment towards excellence.

Inspection of PWMU (Plastic Waste Management Unit)
The SBM-G team led by Ms. Aishvarya Singh, Joint Secretary, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation cm Mission Director (SBM-G), Government of India, visited Rhenock Block today. She was accompanied by the State Mission Director (SBM-G), State Coordinator (SBM-G) Sikkim, ADC (Dev) Pakyong, and other dignitaries.
1. The team inspected the Plastic Waste Management Unit (PWMU) at Rhenock.
2. The purpose of the visit was to assess the functionality, management practices, and sanitation progress of the block.
3. Ms. Singh enquired about the sanitation status of the block and reviewed the operational management of the unit.

Following the inspection, an award distribution ceremony was organized at the BAC Conference Hall, Rhenock. The program was graced by:

Awards were distributed to recognize outstanding contributions in the field of Swachh Bharat Mission–Gramin (SBM-G). The categories included: Best GPU, Best Ward, Best Household, Best Shop, Best Supporting Persons, Best Supporting Panchayat, Best Safai Karmacharis, Best Child (for inspiring others by collecting single-use plastics from footpaths)
Objective of Awards is to Encourage healthy competition among GPUs, Motivate individuals and institutions to maintain high standards of sanitation and waste management, Ensure Rhenock Block continues to achieve top rankings in SBM-G performance.

A Community Awareness Programme was conducted today at BAC Hall, Rhenock by NDRF.
The programme was graced by: Hon’ble Zilla Panchayat, Rhenock–Tarpin Territorial Constituency, Hon’ble Panchayats of Rhenock GPU, AD (PRI), AEO, and Coordinator, Education Department Rhenock, Senior Accountant, DMS/DMA and Staff members of Rhenock BAC.
The session aimed to sensitize the community on precautionary measures during natural calamities. Emphasis was placed on preparedness, awareness, and collective responsibility to minimize risks during disasters.
NDRF personnel conducted a live demonstration on: How to save the life of a victim during an accident, first response techniques before reaching the hospital and Practical steps for immediate rescue and safety etc.
The programme successfully enhanced local awareness, equipping participants with vital knowledge and skills to respond effectively in emergencies.

Sambidhan Diwas Celebration at Rhenock BAC

On the occasion of Sambidhan Diwas, a pledge-taking program was organized today at Rhenock BAC. Officers and staff members gathered to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
The program began with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of the day, followed by the collective reading of the pledge to uphold constitutional values. The event emphasized the importance of democracy, unity, and respect for fundamental rights and duties.
The celebration concluded with a call to continue working towards the vision of the Constitution’s framers, ensuring justice and equality for all citizens.

Rhenock BAC; 17/11/2025: The Disaster Management Mock Exercise (Part II) was conducted today at BAC Rhenock in the presence of the Hon’ble Panchayats of all GPUs, BDO Rhenock, AD (PRI), SHO Rhenock, officials from the PWD, Power & Energy Department, Forest & Environment Department, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Education Department, CHC Rhenock, NCC cadets from Tarpin Senior Secondary School, DMA/DMS team, all BAC staff, local stakeholders, and members of the public.
The program commenced at 9:00 AM with a briefing by BDO Rhenock on the objectives and procedures of the mock exercise. The exercise officially began with a siren signal given by the Fire and Emergency Services, Rhenock.
A landslide scenario near BAC Rhenock was taken as the mock disaster site, where NCC cadets acted as victims. The DMA/DMS team, Fire Department, and Forest Department carried out the rescue operations. The Power Department ensured safety by shutting down the power supply in the entire area, while police personnel efficiently managed traffic and cleared routes for the movement of ambulances and emergency responders.
Final casualties and report drawn from the scene are: -
Number of casualities: 15
Seriously injured: 3
Minor injury: 12
Number of patients in observation camp: 8
Number of patients referred to STNMH/CRH: 3
Overall, the mock exercise was successful and proved to be highly beneficial in enhancing preparedness and coordination among all stakeholders. It helped participants understand the protocols and readiness required to effectively tackle such situations in the future.

Rhenock BAC celebrated National Unity Day 2025 at the Rhenock BAC Conference Hall in the presence of BDO Rhenock Shri S. K. Dhungana, Shri Madhusudhan Sharma (AD-PRI), Shri N. T. Sherpa (Education Coordinator), Shri Sagar Pradhan (AE), and all employees of Rhenock BAC.
The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp before the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the offering of Khadas, followed by the National Unity Pledge reaffirming the spirit of unity and integrity among all participants.

Rhenock BAC: 25th October 2025

The Rhenock Block Administrative Centre organized a Pre-Diwali Celebration at the BAC Conference Hall, hosted by all newly regularized employees of the BAC with great enthusiasm, spreading the message of oneness, harmony, and prosperity.

The event was graced by Shri S. K. Dhungana, BDO Rhenock, as the Chief Guest, and Shri Jiwan Rai, Deputy Director (Education) as the Guest of Honour. The program was further attended by special guests — Mrs. Shreya Pradhan, Shri Rohit Sharma (AD, Education), Shri Madhusudhan Sharma (AD-PRI), Shri Sagar Pradhan (AE), Shri N. T. Sherpa (Block Coordinator), Shri D. P. Dhungana (Coordinator), and Mrs. Puspa Sharma (APC) — along with all staff members and dignitaries of Rhenock BAC.

The celebration commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and offering of Khadas to the Chief Guest and other guests, followed by vibrant cultural performances including Vaileni songs, solo performances, and Deusi-Bhailo, enthusiastically presented by the staff of BAC and the Education Cell.

A cake-cutting ceremony was also held to congratulate and honour the newly regularized employees.

With this event, Rhenock BAC has initiated a new tradition of celebrating togetherness and unity among its staff, and has also planned to celebrate the upcoming Losar Festival in a similar spirit.

Upon receiving a Panchayat complaint about one aggressive stray dog biting many people and other stray dogs of TARPIN & RESHI stretch without any provocation . Today a team from SARAH -Sikkim Anti-Rabies and Animal Health program and staffs from AH&VH Rhenock visited the area and took the following remedial measures.

1. One rabies suspected dog and other 11 dogs which had come in contact or were attacked by that particular aggresive dog has been captured and has be taken to SARAH for furthur observation and confirmatory diagnosis.

2. After few days of observation if the strays dogs taken to SARAH did not show any clinical signs of Rabies then it will be relocated back to their same area/habitate

3. Other stray dogs from Tarpin stretch to Reshi were vaccinated as a post bite prophylactic measures, ( 0 day and 3rd day mass Anti Rabies Vaccination).

4. General Public awareness was mae on -Significance of individual and community participation on ABC- Animal Birth Control in dogs and Anti-rabies vaccination programme which is a recommended method by World Health Organization (WHO) as humane and effective method for controlling stray dog populations and preventing rabies.

Rhenock BAC Observes 79th Independence Day

Rhenock BAC proudly celebrated the 79th Independence Day with a flag hoisting ceremony graced by the presence of Hon’ble Zilla Panchayat (Rhenock–Tarpin TC) Smt. Babita Baraily, Hon’ble Panchayat President (Rhenock) Smt. Nirmala Kalikotey, Hon’ble Panchayat Smt. Pushpa Sharma, BDO Rhenock Shri S. K. Dhungana, Shri Rohit Sharma and Shri N. T. Sherpa from the Education Cell (Rhenock), officials and staff from the Fire & Emergency Service (Rhenock), ex-army personnel, BAC staff imbued with national pride, representatives from the Driver Association (Rhenock), and esteemed members of the local community.

The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp in honor of the nation, followed by the presentation of sawls and khadas to the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests. This was succeeded by the dignified hoisting of the National Flag, a guard of honor presented by the Fire & Emergency Service officials, and the singing of the National Anthem, marking the occasion with patriotic fervor.

Orientation on Strategies for Preventing Drug Use at Gram Panchayat Level

An orientation-cum-awareness programme on strategies for preventing drug use was conducted at the BAC Rhenock Conference Hall under the initiative of the State Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (SIRD), Rural Development Department, Government of Sikkim. The program witnessed the active participation of Hon’ble Panchayat members from all four Gram Panchayat Units—Aritar, Rhenock, Tarpin, and Sudunglakha—along with key stakeholders and officials.
The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. Suman Sharma (MO-IC, Rhenock CHC), Shri Avinash Lamichaney (SHO, Rhenock Police Station), Shri Binod Pradhan (II OC, Rhenock Police Station), Mr. Madan Rai (Field Facilitator, SIRD), SIRD Karfector, GPU functionaries, and BAC staff.
The session commenced with a welcome address by Field Facilitator Mr. Madan Rai, who outlined the core objective of the programme—to raise awareness and reduce the use of contraband substances across the block, for fostering a healthier and drug-free society.
In the address, Dr. Suman Sharma emphasized the medical aspects related to drug use. He highlighted the importance of early medical intervention, understanding the psychological and social causes of drug addiction, and the need for compassionate and structured treatment approaches for those affected.
SHO Shri Avinash Lamichaney informed participants about the legal provisions and penal sections applicable against the sale and distribution of contraband substances. He urged active community participation, especially the role of vigilant citizens as informants, to support law enforcement agencies in identifying and apprehending the culprits responsible for drug trafficking within the locality.
The program served as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and commitment among local authorities, medical professionals, police personnel, and Panchayat representatives toward a coordinated and community-driven effort to combat drug abuse at the grassroots level
