Solid Waste Crisis Looms Over Pahalgam: Urgent Action Needed!

In the year 2017- 2018, due to the efforts of the then CEO Mushtaq Simnani Shb , a Solid Waste Management Plant was established in Pahalgam. The people of pahalgam appreciated the initiatives taken by the Pahalgam Development Authority for setting up a 5 MT Mechanical Segregator, a 5 MT capacity Auto Composter, and a 1 MT capacity Electromagnetic Disintegrator for the scientific disposal of solid waste at Sarbal, Pahalgam.
However, seven years have passed since then, during which the population and tourist footfall have both increased significantly, resulting in a manifold rise in garbage and waste generation. Unfortunately, after Mushtaq Simnani Shb, none of the succeeding CEOs in Pahalgam Development Authority paid attention to the solid waste management plant nor was it upgraded or its capacity enhanced.
As a result, the plant has become almost defunct.
There is no one to look after it, and both the PDA and the Municipal Committee Pahalgam heads simply spend their tenures without addressing this important issue.
If immediate attention is not given, a major disaster caused by waste and garbage mismanagement is inevitable in the near future.
We hope and appeal that the PDA, Municipal Committee, Tourism Department, Urban Development Department, and all relevant authorities will take this matter seriously and act promptly. Otherwise, it will be too late and fixing things later will not be easy.

We Will Not Give Up on Love

We will not give up on love,
Not today, not when storms rise high.
Let the skies darken, let the world collapse,
Still, we will not say goodbye.

They warned us — love is fire, not peace,
A road of thorns, no gentle breeze.
But we walked it still, with bleeding feet,
For the heart knows not how to retreat.

Each promise we made under moonlit skies,
Each tear that fell from silent eyes,
Were oaths etched deeper than the skin—
To love through loss, to lose and win.

Let them mock, let them doubt,
Let the cold winds circle about.
We are not made of clay that breaks,
But of dust that the divine remakes.

If love demands the final breath,
We’ll give it, smiling into death.
For what is life, if not this flame,
That burns in love and bears its name?

We do not fear the end of days,
If loving you is the price it pays.
We'd choose your memory over breath,
A kiss from love, even in death.

So go ahead, world — test our will,
We’ll stand through silence, pain, and chill.
Our hearts were forged in sacred fire,
With every wound, we rise up higher.

We will not give up on love —
Even if it tears our world apart.

For love remains, our truest art.

A Flame That Still Shines – Tribute to Rajiv Ji"

In the bloom of youth, with dreams held high, He soared beneath the nation's sky.
With hope in heart and tech in hand,

A son, a leader, calm and wise,
