Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL), is a schedule ‘A’ Public Sector Undertaking under the administrative control of Government of India (Ministry of Railways). It is the most ambitious and biggest ever project in infrastructure sector, set-up to give economy a boost and build high capacity and high speed rail freight corridors along the golden quadrilateral and its diagonals.

The first Phase comprises of construction of two dedicated freight corridors: Western DFC and Eastern DFC. Western DFC spans from Mumbai to Dadri (U.P.) and
Eastern DFC covers from Ludhiana (Punjab) to Sonnagar (Bihar). At present the company has its Corporate Office at Noida Sector 145, Uttar Pradesh and Field Units at Mumbai, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Jaipur, Noida, Ambala, Meerut, Tundla, Allahabad(East), Allahabad(West) & Deen Dayal Upadhaya

The Dedicated Freight Corridor is built for the efficient movement of double-stack container trains, combining 100% electrification, 2×25 kV traction, and 25-tonne axle load capability to support freight movement of up to 13,000 tonnes in a single train.

Sh. Praveen Kumar, MD/DFCCIL, met with the Sh. Ramashray Pandey, GM/Western Railway, to review its infrastructure, operational preparedness, and strategic role in strengthening seamless rail connectivity to JNPT, India’s premier container port.

During his visit to Mumbai, the Managing Director along with Sh.Hiresh Mina, DRM/Mumbai Division, Central Railway, Sh. Manish Awashy, ED/Infra, Sh. S.P Verma, GGM/BD&BA and other senior officials, inspected New JNPT Station of DFCCIL to discuss infrastructure development, improved rail connectivity, and the logistics potential of the region.

The visit underscored the importance of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor in enabling faster, efficient, and sustainable freight movement, enhancing port-led logistics, and strengthening India’s freight transportation network.

Sh. Praveen Kumar, MD/DFCCIL, met Sh. Rajesh Kumar Aggrawal, Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra, to discuss key matters related to land acquisition and the development of multimodal logistics infrastructure in the State.

The discussions covered land acquisition issues at New Kharbao, matters concerning Nilaje and Umbergaon for the development of Multimodal Logistics Parks under the Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) Policy, and other project-related requirements. Discussions also covered funding arrangements and other development works.

यह आयोजन कार्यालयीन कार्यों में हिंदी के प्रयोग को बढ़ावा देने और राजभाषा के प्रति जागरूकता एवं सहभागिता को प्रोत्साहित करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण पहल है।
