Department of Science & Technology (DST) was established in May 1971, with the objective of promoting new areas of Science & Technology and to play the role of a nodal department for organising, coordinating and promoting S&T activities in the country. Promotion of new areas of Science and Technology with special emphasis on emerging areas. Research and Development through its research institutions or laboratories for development of indigenous technologies concerning bio-fuel production, processing, standardization and applications, in co-ordination with the concerned Ministry or Department;

On , Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in collaboration with Intel Digital Readiness, launched the AI Skills Programme for Vigyan Jyoti Scholars, with an orientation session for NVS Teacher Coordinators.

The programme was introduced by Dr. Susheela Negi, Associate Head, and Dr. Vineeta Kumari, Programme Officer, followed by an online orientation by Shri Anoop Singh Rawat, Intel.

With 250+ NVS Teacher Coordinators actively participating, the initiative marks an important step towards empowering educators with AI skills to inspire and guide Vigyan Jyoti girls towards innovation, future-ready skills and opportunities in emerging technologies.
