A legacy that never fades, a spirit that never stops growing.

From a national Youth UN Volunteer to a gender advocate supporting inclusive development, Sneha Pathak’s story reflects the lasting power of volunteerism.

Beginning as a Research Assistant with UNDP’s Disha project in Delhi (2017), she worked on supporting young women in their transition from education to employment. Through an initiative that reached more than 1,000 schools, she collaborated with government, private sector, educators, and communities to help expand opportunities for young women’s skills, confidence, and livelihoods.

Today, Sneha provides gender advisory support across UNDP India’s portfolios spanning climate action, health, governance, livelihoods, and inclusive workplaces. Her Youth UNV experience remains a strong foundation in her journey, reminding her that meaningful change is built through trust, persistence, and purposeful engagement.

During his visit to India 🇮🇳, UN Volunteers Deputy Executive Coordinator (Management) Andrey Pogrebnyak spoke to UN News about the need for stronger policies, greater investment, and better support for volunteers.

UN Volunteers in India had the privilege of engaging with Mr. Andrey Pogrebnyak, Deputy Executive Coordinator (Management), UNV; Ms. Elise Bouvet, Chief, Volunteer Solutions Section, UNV; and Mr. Md.
