The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) have been established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and the regulatory structure of Ministry of health and family welfare. It is responsible for handling food related issues and maintaining the safety and quality of food items for the benefit of consumers. FSSAI has been created for laying down science based standards for articles of food and to regulate their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption. One Day Training of Designated Officers and Food Safety Officers of Indian Railways on Various Provisions of FSS, Act, Rules & Regulations relevant to Designated Officers & Food Safety Officers was successfully conducted at NTCFSS, Ghaziabad on 21.08.2026. Designated Officers and FSOs from 18 zones of Indian Railways attended the training programme. The programme received overwhelming response and the railways officials were well informed about the practical aspects of enforcement and sampling and provisions of FSS, Act, Rules and Regulations.
