On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, the North-West District Legal Services Authority (NW-DLSA), under the aegis of NALSA and DSLSA, conducted an awareness session on 07.03.2026 at Women Shelter, Kali Mata Mandir, Sector-3, Rohini, Delhi. The session focused on “Legal Rights of Women Facing Harassment, Abuse & Neglect at Home.” Ms. Taruna Devi, Learned Legal Aid Counsel (LAC) addressed the participants and sensitized them about available legal remedies and support mechanisms.

A Mega Legal Services Camp was organised on 28.02.2026 by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) through the North-West District Legal Services Authority at MCD Boys School, Mangolpur Kalan, benefiting over 800 people. A Legal Aid Clinic was also inaugurated at the adjoining MCD Community Centre to provide doorstep access to justice for local residents, many of whom belong to the unorganised sector. The Camp marked the culmination of a two-month outreach initiative involving door-to-door engagement by trained Para-Legal Volunteers to assess legal service needs.
The Camp was held under the leadership of Hon’ble Mr. Justice V. Kameswar Rao, Judge, High Court of Delhi and Executive Chairperson, DSLSA. Sh. Rajeev Bansal, Member Secretary, DSLSA, highlighted the Authority’s commitment to grassroots legal aid delivery. Ms. Nisha Sahay Saxena, Principal District & Sessions Judge, North-West District, led the district-level organisation of the event, which was also graced by Sh. Prem Kumar Barthwal, Ld. Principal District & Sessions Judge (North).
Various government departments provided services including Aadhaar and Labour card enrolment/updation, welfare schemes for women and children, social security schemes for unorganised workers, along with a medical camp and mental health helpdesk. Assistive disability kits were also distributed to eligible beneficiaries following a prior disability assessment camp. The initiative strengthened last-mile delivery of legal aid and welfare services for the residents of Mangolpur Kalan and nearby areas.

North-west DLSA (District Legal Services Authority) in coordination with DCPO, conducted a training session with Anganwadi workers and helpers to raise awareness about the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act. A total of 55 participants actively engaged in the session and committed to spreading awareness in their communities. Key points discussed included the legal provisions that child marriage is illegal below 18 years for girls and 21 years for boys, and the serious consequences of child marriage such as health risks, educational dropout, and exploitation of children. The training emphasized the critical roles of Anganwadi workers in identifying potential child marriage cases, reporting them to authorities including Child Helpline 1098 and police, and taking preventive measures to stop child marriages.

The District Legal Services Authorities of the North-West and North Districts, under the aegis of NALSA & DSLSA, held an awareness programme on the occasion of World AIDS Day 2025 at Drishtikon NGO, Sultanpuri which was attended by about 65 people. The session educated the community about HIV and AIDS- how HIV affects the immune system, prevention, early testing and availability of ART so people living with HIV can live healthy lives. A Legal Help Desk was available for assistance, and information was also shared about public services, evening traffic courts and road-safety guidelines.

North-West DLSA, under the aegis of NALSA and DSLSA, set up a Legal Aid Helpdesk on Constitution Day, 26 November 2025, at City Centre Mall, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi. Ms. Sangeeta and Ms. Gauri Tiwari, PLVs, served as resource persons on behalf of NW DLSA. They interacted with and informed approximately 105 visitors, both inside and outside the mall, about the availability of free legal aid and services. Informational pamphlets were also distributed to raise legal awareness among the public.

North-West DLSA, under the aegis of NALSA and DSLSA, organized an Awareness Session on Constitution Day on 26 November 2025 at GGSSS B-Block, Shakurpur Anandwas. Ms. Hitankshi Bhatnagar (LAC) served as the resource person on behalf of NW DLSA and engaged the students with insightful discussions on constitutional rights and duties. North-West District Legal Services Authority in collaboration with District Child Protection Unit, Rohini organized an Awareness Session on “Preventing Illegal Adoption Practices” to sensitize hospital staff including doctors, nurses and support staff about the legal adoption process, the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, and the legal consequences of informal or illegal adoption. Sh. Tarun Walia (LAC) was resource person on behalf of North-West DLSA to deliver the lecture. The session was held at Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, Delhi, on 12/11/2025 from 2 PM to 4 PM.
