Every Child Deserves Justice, Protection, and a Voice.

Under the NALSA (Child-Friendly Legal Services for Children) Scheme, 2024, every child below the age of 18 is entitled to free, child-friendly, and accessible legal aid. Whether a child is in conflict with the law, in need of care and protection, a survivor of abuse, trafficking, child labour, child marriage, or involved in any legal matter, support is available every step of the way.

The scheme ensures legal assistance, counselling, rehabilitation support, access to government benefits, and a safe, child-centric justice system through Legal Services Authorities across the country.

Legal aid is not a privilege—it is every child's right.

DLSA North-West, Delhi under the aegis of NALSA and DSLSA organized a Multi Legal Services Camp on 14.07.2026 at Anganwadi Centre, Sawda J.J. Colony, Ghevra under the scheme “Community Legal Empowerment through Health and Childcare Platforms”.During the camp, citizens were provided with free services including Aadhaar Enrolment/Updates, PAN Application/Corrections, e-Shram & Labour Card registration, Ayushman Bharat & Senior Citizen Card registration, Medical Checkup and Legal Aid Help Desk. A total of 32 Ayushman Cards and 9 Labour Cards were processed. For Aadhaar, 30 enrollments/updates were completed. Additionally, 53 beneficiaries availed medical checkup facilities and pregnant women received special health advice from the doctor. Photography of 18 children and families was also done during the camp.The camp aimed to deliver essential government services and legal aid at the doorstep of the community.

"Yoga for Healthy Ageing "

Under the aegis of NALSA and DSLSA, DLSA North-West & North District successfully organized a vibrant Yoga Day session on 21st June 2026 at the Central Hall, Rohini Courts Complex, Delhi.
The event was graced by Ms. Nisha Sahay Saxena, Ld Principal District & Sessions Judge (North-West) & Chairperson, DLSA North-West, and Sh. Prem Kumar Barthwal, Ld Principal District & Sessions Judge, North District, & Chairperson, DLSA North, who inspired participants with the message of yoga, wellness, and holistic living.
Aligned with this year's theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” the session highlighted the importance of yoga in promoting physical strength, mental clarity, emotional well-being, and an active lifestyle at every stage of life.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, the North-West District Legal Services Authority (NW-DLSA), under the aegis of NALSA and DSLSA, conducted an awareness session on 07.03.2026 at Women Shelter, Kali Mata Mandir, Sector-3, Rohini, Delhi. The session focused on “Legal Rights of Women Facing Harassment, Abuse & Neglect at Home.” Ms. Taruna Devi, Learned Legal Aid Counsel (LAC) addressed the participants and sensitized them about available legal remedies and support mechanisms.

A Mega Legal Services Camp was organised on 28.02.2026 by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) through the North-West District Legal Services Authority at MCD Boys School, Mangolpur Kalan, benefiting over 800 people. A Legal Aid Clinic was also inaugurated at the adjoining MCD Community Centre to provide doorstep access to justice for local residents, many of whom belong to the unorganised sector. The Camp marked the culmination of a two-month outreach initiative involving door-to-door engagement by trained Para-Legal Volunteers to assess legal service needs.
The Camp was held under the leadership of Hon’ble Mr. Justice V. Kameswar Rao, Judge, High Court of Delhi and Executive Chairperson, DSLSA. Sh. Rajeev Bansal, Member Secretary, DSLSA, highlighted the Authority’s commitment to grassroots legal aid delivery. Ms. Nisha Sahay Saxena, Principal District & Sessions Judge, North-West District, led the district-level organisation of the event, which was also graced by Sh. Prem Kumar Barthwal, Ld. Principal District & Sessions Judge (North).
Various government departments provided services including Aadhaar and Labour card enrolment/updation, welfare schemes for women and children, social security schemes for unorganised workers, along with a medical camp and mental health helpdesk. Assistive disability kits were also distributed to eligible beneficiaries following a prior disability assessment camp. The initiative strengthened last-mile delivery of legal aid and welfare services for the residents of Mangolpur Kalan and nearby areas.

North-west DLSA (District Legal Services Authority) in coordination with DCPO, conducted a training session with Anganwadi workers and helpers to raise awareness about the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act. A total of 55 participants actively engaged in the session and committed to spreading awareness in their communities. Key points discussed included the legal provisions that child marriage is illegal below 18 years for girls and 21 years for boys, and the serious consequences of child marriage such as health risks, educational dropout, and exploitation of children. The training emphasized the critical roles of Anganwadi workers in identifying potential child marriage cases, reporting them to authorities including Child Helpline 1098 and police, and taking preventive measures to stop child marriages.

The District Legal Services Authorities of the North-West and North Districts, under the aegis of NALSA & DSLSA, held an awareness programme on the occasion of World AIDS Day 2025 at Drishtikon NGO, Sultanpuri which was attended by about 65 people. The session educated the community about HIV and AIDS- how HIV affects the immune system, prevention, early testing and availability of ART so people living with HIV can live healthy lives. A Legal Help Desk was available for assistance, and information was also shared about public services, evening traffic courts and road-safety guidelines.
