On the occasion of National Technology Day 2026, DRDO’s Defence Science Forum and Scientific Analysis Group (SAG) organised a commemorative event at Dr S Bhagavantham Auditorium, Metcalfe House, Delhi.

The programme was presided over by Dr B K Das, DS & DG (ECS) and featured addresses by Dr U K Singh and DS & DG (SSS), Chief Mentor DSF.

The event was graced by Prof Manoj Singh Gaur, Director IIT Jammu, as Chief Guest and Sqn Ldr Sameer Joshi (Retd), CEO NewSpace Research & Technology as Guest of Honour, who delivered insightful keynote addresses on emerging technologies, innovation and self-reliance in the defence sector.

The celebrations also included inspiring orations by scientists from DRDO laboratories, distribution of medals & certificates, and commendation to DRDO employees, along with the release of “DRDO Technology Spectrum-2026” and books including “Raksha Anusandhan Bharti” and “Padma Awardees of DRDO”.

The event reflected DRDO’s continued commitment towards indigenous innovation, advanced research and strengthening India’s technological capabilities for national security.

A seminar on “Current Conflicts & Beyond: Technology Transformation & Future of Wars” was organised by DRDO and Center for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS) at DRDO Bhawan today to commemorate the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor.

The seminar was inaugurated with special video message of Gen Anil Chauhan, CDS emphasising joint war fighting capabilities, tri-services integration and the centrality of technology in shaping India’s security posture.

The event was started with welcome by Dr Ranjana Nallamalli, Director DFTM, DRDO and setting the tone by Lt Gen Dushyant Singh, DG CLAWS

Dr U K Singh, DG(SSS), DRDO delivered the inaugural address followed by Dr Prateek Kishore, DG (ACE), DRDO sharing the technological perspectives of future and emerging defence requirements.

Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, DCAS, presented “Technological Takeaways from Operation Sindoor,” offering a definitive assessment of how precision-guided munitions, real-time surveillance, and network-centric warfare assets shaped the operational outcomes of the mission and the enduring lessons they carry for force modernisation.

A special session on Technological Takeaways were organised which was chaired by Lt Gen Vipul Shinghai, DCOAS (IS&T) in which Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, (DCAS), Lt Gen Rahul R singh, DCOAS (CD&S) , Vice Admiral S N Ghormade, Former VCNS & Dr Prateek Kishore, DG(ACE) shared their insights.

Achieving a significant milestone, the Advanced Armoured Platform (Wheeled & Tracked) designed by VRDE, DRDO and developed jointly with Tata Advanced System Limited & Bharat Forge Limited were flagged off by Dr Samir V Kamat, Secretary DD(R&D) and Chairman DRDO today at VRDE Ahilyanagar in presence of Prof (Dr) Prateek Kishore, DS & DG(ACE), Dr Chandrika Kaushik, DS & DG(PC&SI), Shri Sukaran Singh, CEO & MD M/s TASL Pune, Shri Amit Kalyani, VC & Jt MD M/s BFL Pune and Shri G R M Rao, OS & Director VRDE.

The AAP (Tracked and Wheeled) have been designed to cater to the emerging operational requirements of Indian Armed Forces. Both the platforms have been integrated with indigenously designed & developed Crewless Turret with 30 mm gun. The platforms are amphibious and capable of launching Anti Tank Guided Missiles.

Defence Electronics Research Laboratory organised a one day exhibition on Counter Drone systems, ‘SAMRAKSHAK’ on 22nd April 2026, showcasing state of the art indigenous Counter Drone Technologies developed by various laboratories of DRDO.

Dr Samir V Kamat, Secretary, DDR&D and Chairman DRDO graced the event as Chief Guest. Dr B K Das, DG ECS was the Guest of honour. DGs, Directors, senior officials from tri-services and MHA graced the occasion. The event brought together all the stakeholders including users, DRDO Scientists, Defence PSUs and industry partners.

During his keynote address Secretary DDR&D and Chairman DRDO appreciated the efforts of various laboratories in evolving nobel counter drone technologies and systems to meet the paradigm shift in the game of warfare. He highlighted the importance of such events in bringing all stake holders together under one umbrella to discuss technologies and road map towards addressing emerging threat scenario.

Dr BK Das, DS & DG(ECS) in his address emphasised the crucial role being played by Counter Drone Systems in the present geopolitical scenario and underlined the need to synergize all stakeholders towards meeting emerging challenges in this field.
Counter Drone Systems/Technologies consisting of Radar by LRDE, Bangalore, RF Detection and Neutralization system by DLRL, Hyderabad, EO/IR Systems by IRDE, Dehradun, High Energy Laser Systems by CHESS, Hyderabad, High Power Microwave Systems by MTRDC, Bangalore, Acoustic Sensors by NPOL, Kochi and weaponized Drones by DYSL-AT, Dundigal were showcased during the expo.

The event was attended by over 300 officials creating a platform for fruitful discussions and tangible solutions for meeting futuristic threat scenarios.

The conclusion of the event was marked with the panel discussion of senior officials chaired by Dr B K Das, DG ECS, highlighting cutting edge technologies for Indian Defence Forces and the way forward for next generation counter drone systems leading towards Viksit Bharat.

Dr Ravindra Singh DG (R&M) inaugurated DRDO Mega Exhibition at Motihari today in presence of Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar, DM, DDC and Deputy Mayor Motihari. Director, Directorate of Parliament, Rajbhasha & Public Interface (DRPPI) and  Director, Directorate of Civil Works & Estates (DCW&E) from DRDO also attended the function.

This Mega event is organised under the vision and guidance of Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Hon’ble Member of Parliament and Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence. In his video message for inauguration of the event he appreciated DRDO for organising the DRDO exhibition for the first time in Bihar in such a grand manner. He said that the exhibition is highly motivating for the public, and the youth in particular and urged the people to come and see the indigenous DRDO products and technologies and feel with the sense of pride.

A National Facility for Compo-Rheo Die Casting (CRDC) was inaugurated by Secretary DDR&D and Chairman DRDO in the presence of Prof Govindan Rangarajan, Director IISc Bengaluru on 11 April 2026 at IISc Bengaluru campus.

The event also marked the formal handover of project deliverables matured under the joint research projects of DIA-RCoE and IISc Bengaluru.

The occasion highlighted the strong collaborative framework of DIA-CoE between DRDO and IISc, in fostering innovation and accelerating technology translation, being coordinated by Directorate of Futuristic Technology Management under the Technology Management Cluster.
