Defence Electronics Research Laboratory organised a one day exhibition on Counter Drone systems, ‘SAMRAKSHAK’ on 22nd April 2026, showcasing state of the art indigenous Counter Drone Technologies developed by various laboratories of DRDO.
Dr Samir V Kamat, Secretary, DDR&D and Chairman DRDO graced the event as Chief Guest. Dr B K Das, DG ECS was the Guest of honour. DGs, Directors, senior officials from tri-services and MHA graced the occasion. The event brought together all the stakeholders including users, DRDO Scientists, Defence PSUs and industry partners.
During his keynote address Secretary DDR&D and Chairman DRDO appreciated the efforts of various laboratories in evolving nobel counter drone technologies and systems to meet the paradigm shift in the game of warfare. He highlighted the importance of such events in bringing all stake holders together under one umbrella to discuss technologies and road map towards addressing emerging threat scenario.
Dr BK Das, DS & DG(ECS) in his address emphasised the crucial role being played by Counter Drone Systems in the present geopolitical scenario and underlined the need to synergize all stakeholders towards meeting emerging challenges in this field.
Counter Drone Systems/Technologies consisting of Radar by LRDE, Bangalore, RF Detection and Neutralization system by DLRL, Hyderabad, EO/IR Systems by IRDE, Dehradun, High Energy Laser Systems by CHESS, Hyderabad, High Power Microwave Systems by MTRDC, Bangalore, Acoustic Sensors by NPOL, Kochi and weaponized Drones by DYSL-AT, Dundigal were showcased during the expo.
The event was attended by over 300 officials creating a platform for fruitful discussions and tangible solutions for meeting futuristic threat scenarios.
The conclusion of the event was marked with the panel discussion of senior officials chaired by Dr B K Das, DG ECS, highlighting cutting edge technologies for Indian Defence Forces and the way forward for next generation counter drone systems leading towards Viksit Bharat.
