Air Marshal KAA Sanjeeb assumed the appointment of Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance of the Indian Air Force wef 01 Sep 2026. Commissioned in the Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) branch in Sep 1988, he has held various important field and staff appointments. Prior to this, he was Director General (Aircraft) at Air Headquarters.

He succeeds Air Marshal Sanjiv Ghuratia who superannuated on 31 Aug 2026 after rendering 39 years of distinguished service.

On 01 Sep 2026, Air Vice Marshal Shakti Sharma became the first woman officer (non-medical) in the Indian Defence Services to attain the rank of Air Vice Marshal (or equivalent). She assumed the appointment of Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Education).

A landmark achievement, marking a new chapter in the journey of women officers in the Indian Defence Forces. Her over three decades of distinguished service continues to inspire generations to Touch the Sky with Glory.

The Championship is being held from 31 Aug to 04 Sep 26, with teams from Sri Lanka, UK, Indian Army (two teams), and team from state of Haryana competing for the title.

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, also participated in friendly exhibition matches with Air Marshal M Baladitya (Retd) and Captain Dan Peskett, UK.

The Sarang Helicopter Display Team of the Indian Air Force has arrived at El Alamein, Egypt. The team will participate in the 2nd edition of the El Alamein International Airshow, scheduled from 08 to 10 September 2026.

Flying the indigenously designed and manufactured ALH Dhruv, Sarang will showcase precision, synchronisation and flying skills. The world’s only helicopter aerobatic display team, Sarang will enthral audiences with its signature aerial displays.

*Siam Bharat 2026: Together for Humanity*

Exercise Siam Bharat 2026, a joint - Royal Thai Air Force Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise was conducted from 23 to 29 August 2026 at AF Station Agra.

The exercise focused on enhancing joint HADR readiness through tabletop exercises, capability exchanges, and tactical air operations.

Participants also included representatives from the NDRF, NDMA, DGRE, and the Indian Army.

The engagement aimed to build integrated capabilities and strengthen bilateral operational coordination for regional disaster relief.
