LAC-Level Committee Meeting on Khel Maharan 3.0 Held at Nazira Co-District
👉A meeting of the LAC-level Committee on Khel Maharan 3.0 was held today at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Co-District Commissioner, Nazira to discuss preparatory arrangements and coordination for the smooth conduct of the sporting initiative.
👉Khel Maharan 3.0, an initiative of the Government of Assam aimed at identifying and nurturing grassroots sporting talent, is scheduled to commence on 7 November 2026. Competitions at the Gaon Panchayat and Urban Local Body levels will be held from 7 to 20 November 2026, followed by the Legislative Assembly Constituency-level competitions from 1 to 15 December 2026. The district-level competitions are scheduled from 26 December 2026 to 2 January 2027, while the state-level competitions will take place from 4 to 10 February 2027.
👉The third edition will feature eight sporting disciplines across various age groups: Athletics (100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres and long jump), Football, Volleyball, Aquathlon, Swimming, Yogasana, Boxing and Chess.
👉In addition, Shishu Krida Samaroh will be organised for children in the under-12, under-14 and under-16 age categories to encourage early participation in sports and nurture young talent.
👉The meeting brought together representatives of the Hon’ble MLA, 97-Nazira LAC; Chairpersons of Nazira and Simaluguri Municipal Boards, Presidents of Gaon Panchayats under Nazira LAC; and officers-in-charge.
👉The meeting focused on coordination among the concerned departments and stakeholders to facilitate the effective organisation of the competitions and encourage maximum participation from the constituency.
