Spot-breasted Fantail or White-spotted Fantail in action.

This lively little bird is a master of agility! While filming, its rapid movements and tail-fanning made it quite a challenge to follow—especially through a fully zoomed lens. Still, somehow managed to capture glimpses of its energetic movements. Sharing this clip so you can witness how the Spot-breasted Fantail moves through its habitat.

After nearly ten years away, stepped back into the world of birdwatching again. Life happened, commitments came, but passion doesn't fade—it just sleeps.

On November 2nd, with my trusty Canon 550D, the dependable 70-300 IS and Chaitali by my side, I returned to the Gangapur Dam nursery area where it all began. The place had changed, but as we drove the familiar broken roads, something magical happened—a beautiful male Indian peafowl, our national bird, posed gracefully on a rock just beyond a private gate. It was unexpected. It was perfect.

From there, the day unfolded like a reunion with old friends. Long-tailed shrikes on cables, an Indian roller revealing vivid blues, drongos on trees, and many more.

Two hours. One perfect day. One majestic peafowl reminding me why I fell in love with birdwatching in the first place.
