A mass plantation drive was conducted on 16thJuly 2025 at Upper Suntaley ward no. 04 , under 24-Sukrabarey Suntaley GPU led by the hon’ble Panchayat member Smt. Basanti Chettri supported by the concerned public in coordination with Sikkim Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Limited.
The initiative was carried out under the Panchayati Raj Institution’s (PRI) guidelines to encourage cleanliness and environmental awareness in rural areas.

Under the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s visionary direction of “Afnai Gaun Afai Banau,” a successful plantation drive was carried out in Lower Suntaley and Middle Suntaley under 24-Sukrabarey Suntaley GPU on 16th june 2025.

The program was led by Hon’ble MLA Shri N.B. Pradhan, accompanied by the Hon’ble Panchayat President,Hon’ble Panchayat Members, CLC President Shri O.T Lepcha, GPK staff, local public, and Forest Department officials. The active participation of the community made the event a grand success in promoting greenery and environmental awareness.
