In a world constantly pulling us in different directions, the quiet moments matter the most. 🌿📚

A mother and son. Two books. One shared habit that says more than words ever could.

When children see adults read, they don’t just learn to love books — they learn the value of slowing down, being present, thinking deeply, and spending meaningful time together. These little reading moments become memories they carry for life.

At the library, we often witness something beautiful — families growing closer, page by page. Not through grand plans or expensive outings, but through simple togetherness. Sitting beside each other. Turning pages in silence. Sharing stories, laughter, thoughts, and curiosity.

Because bonding with children isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes, it’s simply about being there. ❤️

And perhaps one of the greatest gifts we can give our children today is not just books… but our time beside them while they read. ✨📖

Healing is rarely neat or linear, and Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow doesn’t pretend otherwise.

The story follows Charlie, a teenager carrying more grief and pain than most people know how to talk about. As she tries to rebuild her life piece by piece, the book moves through loneliness, survival, and the fragile moments that make hope feel possible again.

Raw, emotional, and deeply honest, this is a novel that has connected with many readers for the way it handles difficult emotions without softening them.

White Bird by R. J. Palacio unfolds during a difficult period in history, following a young girl whose world changes almost overnight.

In the middle of fear and uncertainty, unexpected acts of kindness begin to shape her journey in ways she never imagined.

The story gently explores courage, compassion, and the quiet ways people show up for one another when it matters most.

Emotional without being overwhelming, it carries the same warmth and humanity that readers loved in Wonder.

A moving read that reminds us how powerful kindness can be, even in the darkest moments.

Creative thinking begins when children are encouraged to go beyond “right” and “wrong” answers. ✨

Questions that invite imagination, reflection, and self-introspection help children think deeply, express freely, and understand themselves better. Sometimes, the most meaningful learning happens not through memorising—but through wondering, questioning, and exploring ideas in their own unique way.

At Reading Rabbits Library, we love creating spaces where children can think creatively, reflect honestly, and discover their own voice through conversations, books, and thoughtful activities. 📚💛

🎂 As I turn a year older today, I find myself feeling deeply grateful for the people who make this journey meaningful. 💛

To my parents and in-laws, for your constant support and encouragement…
To my daughter, for being my biggest joy and reminder to slow down and cherish the little moments…
To my staff, students, clients, and friends — thank you for your trust, kindness, conversations, and for being such an important part of my life and journey.

Every interaction, every lesson, and every shared moment has shaped me in more ways than I can express.

Here’s to growing, learning, and continuing to build meaningful spaces and connections through books, children, and community ✨

Grateful for another beautiful year.

You know those days when one small thing goes wrong and suddenly everything feels BIG? Ravi’s Roar by Tom Percival captures that feeling so well.

Ravi is usually able to manage his temper, but one day his feelings come bursting out in a way that feels impossible to control. The story gently explores anger, frustration, and the messy moments children sometimes struggle to explain.

Simple, relatable, and full of warmth, this is a lovely picture book for helping children understand emotions and talk about them a little more openly.

Books often help children understand something they may not always notice — that parents are learning, struggling, worrying, and growing too. 💛

As children grow, it’s easy for them to see parents only through rules, routines, and expectations.

But stories open a window into emotions, responsibilities, sacrifices, and the invisible weight adults sometimes carry every day.

Through books, children begin to understand that parents are not just “parents”, they are people with fears, dreams, pressures, and feelings of their own. And sometimes, that understanding builds empathy in the most beautiful way.

That’s the power of reading. It doesn’t just improve language or imagination — it helps children see the world, and the people closest to them, a little differently. 📚✨

I would love to know, What’s one book that changed the way you saw your parents?
