The Pride of Nagpur (A must Visit Place)
Dedicated to Lord Shiva and Ram, the Shree Poddareshwar Ram Mandir is the temple in Nagpur has a beautiful structure with amazing architecture and has been made of sandstone and marble. The temple is beautiful cause of its marvelous sculpting.

The temple has a dharamshala to accommodate the devotees visiting outside the city; they are not charged for the stay but are given the responsibility to not make the sacred place untidy.

Every year during Ram Navami, a shobhayatra is taken out that attracts thousands of people.



Built in the year 1923, Sri Poddareshwar Ram Mandir was built by Late Shree Jamnadhar Poddar who is related to the famous Poddar family of Rajasthan. He was a famous businessman of that time. The Shree Poddareshwar Ram Mandir has become a famous attraction of Nagpur due to its history and construction.

Ambedkar, converted to Buddhism with approximately 600,000 followers on Ashok Vijaya Dashami on 14 October 1956. Ambedkar's conversion to Buddhism is deeply significant for millions of people in India.

Deeksha literally means 'act of ordaining' and bhoomi means the 'ground'. Deekshabhoomi means the ground where people got ordained as Buddhist. This religious mass conversion at one place was the first ever of its kind in history

An ancient and famous temple of Tekdi Ganesh is also known as ‘Tekadicha Ganpati’. Tekdi Ganesh Temple is said to be 250 years old. The shrine of Lord Ganesha is believed to be self-existent, and its size is increasing over a period. During the early years, Tekdi Ganapati Temple used to be an ordinary shrine with a tin shade and a small platform. Later, the Military Defence wing took over its possession and renovations began in the year 1970. After acquiring the adjoining land in 1965, the construction of the Ganapati Temple started in 1978. It was completed in the year 1984.

Even though Nagpur is popular as a historic city amongst several tourists and traveller, it is still an unknown fact that the settlement in and around Nagpur has been in existence since the last 3000 years. However, as per historical records, the city was founded by a king of the Gond dynasty in the 18th century.

The region has also been ruled by several other dynasties in the past, including the Badami Chalukyas, the Yadavas, the Tughlaq dynasty, the Mughals and the Marathas. Today, Nagpur is one of the fastest-developing centres in India.

ओरिसा च्या स्वारीवर गेल्यावर तिथे काही सैनिक टेहाऴणी करीत होती तेव्हा पायाना कोरीव दगड लागले. सरदार टेहाळणी करताना काही स्तंभ जमिनीतून वर। आलेले दिसले. त्यांनी उकरण् यास सुरवात केली खोदकाम करताना मंदिराचे अवशेष सापडले.....

बहुधा हे मंदिर परकीय विध्वंसकाकडून सुरक्षित राखण्यासाठी बुजवण्यात आले असावे...

ते मराठी माणसाला सापडले परंतु कोणार्कच मंदिर मराठी माणसांनी शोधल्याच श्रेय कुणी आपल्याला देत नाही. जसे अजिंठ्याच्या शोध जॉन स्मिथ ला दिले जाते.

पण नशीब हा मंदिर मिळाल्याचा इतिहास Elis B***r या ब्रिटिश संशोधक स्त्रीने प्रथम लिहून ठेवला व तिने नागपूरच्या भोसल्याना हे श्रेय दिलं हेही लक्षात ठेवले पाहिजे... चुक ब्रिटिशांची नाही तर इथल्या इतिहासकारांची आणि डाव्यांनी व्यापलेल्या शिक्षण व्यवस्थेची आहे.
