The Two-Day Awareness and Capacity Building Workshop under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme concluded successfully on 17th July 2026 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nagaon, following two days of intensive learning and stakeholder engagement. The programme was organized by ASIDC Ltd. and implemented by District Industries & Commerce Centre (DICC), Nagaon in collaboration with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaon with the objective of strengthening entrepreneurial competencies, promoting sustainable enterprise development, and enhancing awareness of the various support mechanisms available to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The RAMP Programme is a flagship Ministry of MSME, Government of India initiative, supported by the World Bank, aimed at improving the competitiveness and resilience of MSMEs through capacity building, access to finance, technology, markets, and institutional reforms.

The valedictory session was graced by Dr. Bhabesh Chandra Deka, Principal Scientist & Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaon, and Ms. Gargi Goswami, Assistant Manager, DICC Nagaon, who encouraged the participants to leverage the knowledge gained during the programme to establish sustainable enterprises and contribute meaningfully to the local economy.

The workshop featured a series of informative technical sessions delivered by distinguished resource persons. Sri Paras Priyam Borah conducted an insightful session on Financial Literacy, emphasizing prudent financial planning and access to institutional credit. Dr. Bobita Gogoi shared her expertise on Organic Farming, Vermicomposting and Natural Farming, highlighting sustainable agricultural practices with entrepreneurial potential. Ms. Juli Sarma delivered an engaging session on Nursery Development and Horticulture, showcasing emerging opportunities in the agri-horticulture sector.

A total of 55 aspiring and existing entrepreneurs participated enthusiastically in the two-day programme. Through interactive sessions and expert guidance, participants gained practical knowledge and enhanced their understanding of entrepreneurship, sustainable business practices, and government support systems. Such capacity-building initiatives play a vital role in fostering innovation, creating livelihood opportunities, and strengthening the MSME ecosystem, thereby contributing to the vision of an Atmanirbhar Assam and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

A two-day Awareness and Capacity Building Workshop under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme commenced on 16th July, 2026 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Nagaon for agriculture sector beneficiaries under the Chief Minister's Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) 2.0. The workshop will continue on 17th July, 2026.

The programme has been organized by the Assam Small Industries Development Corporation (ASIDC) Ltd. and is being implemented by the District Industries and Commerce Centre (DICC), Nagaon in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, AAU, Nagaon. The objective of the workshop is to enhance the knowledge, technical skills and entrepreneurial capabilities of beneficiaries and promote sustainable agriculture-based enterprises under the RAMP initiative.

The inaugural session began with a welcome address by Dr. Bhabesh Ch. Deka, Principal Scientist & Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, AAU, Nagaon, who highlighted the importance of scientific agriculture, capacity building and entrepreneurship development for strengthening the MSME ecosystem in the district. This was followed by a brief presentation on the purpose and objectives of the workshop by Shri Pranjan Rajmedhi, General Manager, DICC, Nagaon, who emphasized the significance of skill enhancement and institutional support for the successful implementation of the RAMP Scheme. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Shri Jugman Dekaraja, DICC, Nagaon and will continue under supervision of Ms. Gargi Goswami, Asst. Manager, DICC Nagaon.

The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Dharmaraj Kalita, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, Nagaon, who attended the programme as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of adopting modern agricultural practices, innovation and effective utilization of government support schemes for promoting entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihood generation. He urged the participants to make optimum use of the knowledge gained through the training programme for the growth and diversification of their enterprises.

The programme was also attended by Shri Abdul Hamid, Deputy Manager, ASIDC Ltd., Nagaon as a distinguished guest. Shri Nikhil Narayan Baruah, District Agriculture Officer, Nagaon, attended the programme as the Special Guest and delivered an expert lecture on scientific farming practices, value addition, agribusiness opportunities and the scope for sustainable development in the agriculture sector. He emphasized the adoption of modern technologies, improved productivity, post-harvest management and value-added agricultural enterprises to enhance income generation and strengthen the market competitiveness of entrepreneurs.

The first day's programme included sessions on the objectives of the RAMP Scheme, MSME development, entrepreneurship promotion and various government support initiatives. As per the schedule, the second day will comprise specialized technical sessions on agriculture-based entrepreneurship, followed by a field visit to provide participants with practical exposure to modern agricultural practices and successful enterprise models.

The workshop is expected to strengthen the entrepreneurial capacity of agriculture sector beneficiaries under CMAAA 2.0 and facilitate the development of sustainable MSMEs in the agriculture sector in Nagaon district.

14th July 2026: Two-Day RAMP Awareness & Capacity Building Workshop Commences at AVFU, Raha.
A two-day Awareness & Capacity Building Workshop under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme commenced today (14 July 2026) at the Faculty of Fisheries Science, Assam Veterinary and Fisheries University (AVFU), Raha, Nagaon for beneficiaries from the fisheries sector under Chief Minister's Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) 2.0.
The programme is organized by Assam Small Industries Development Corporation (ASIDC) Ltd. and implemented by the District Industries & Commerce Centre (DICC), Nagaon in collaboration with the Faculty of Fisheries Science, AVFU, Raha.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Ankita Borah, ACS, Co-District Commissioner, Raha, as the Chief Guest. The inaugural session also featured a welcome address by Shri Pranjan Rajmedhi, General Manager, DICC, Nagaon and a presentation on the RAMP scheme by Shri Abdul Hamid, Deputy Manager, ASIDC Ltd.
The programme was attended by Shri Prabhat Ch. Bhuyan, Dean, Faculty of Fisheries Science, AVFU, Raha; Shri Himangshu Talukdar, District Fishery Development Officer, Nagaon and Shri Utpal Hazarika, District Officer, Assam Khadi and Village Industries Board (AKVIB), Raha as Special Guests. Technical sessions focused on scientific fisheries practices, value addition, entrepreneurship opportunities and sustainable development of fisheries-based enterprises.
The first day covered awareness sessions on the RAMP scheme, MSME development and government support initiatives. The second day will include specialized fisheries entrepreneurship sessions and a field visit to provide participants with practical exposure to successful enterprise models.
Upon successful completion of the programme, certificates will be awarded to all participants.
