Contributions towards CSR plunged sharply by 64% to Rs 8,828 crore in 2020-21 from Rs 24,689 crore the year before, making it the lowest in seven years.Listed companies typically account for 60-70% of the total CSR spending.

TeamLease EdTech survey that covered over 100 companies across the country for a study, says that nearly 70 per cent expressed an intention to increase their CSR spending for education/skilling in the next fiscal year.

As per a recent report, contributions towards CSR plunged sharply by 64% to Rs 8,828 crore in 2020-21 from Rs 24,689 crore the year before, making it the lowest in seven years. While the pandemic dampened the pace and spending, experts are positive that the contribution to CSR by the listed companies will increase as the situation normalizes.
