For those who are in love with this place :)

On this day, began the inch perfect survey in 1802, that divided the entire South Asia in triangles, physically measured by surveyors. Started by William Lambton, it took more than 50 years to accomplish, and a man named George Everest completed it. The Survey measured, accurately, the heights of Himalayan Peaks (the highest was named after the Surveyor), with the help of Mathematician Radhanath Sikdar and calculated the exact shape of the earth, advancing human knowledge. All in Dehradun.
