Mr. Vivek Bhide, F.IOD, President of Indo-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IBLCCI) had the opportunity to attend the 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮-𝗘𝗨 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗵𝗶 𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟳 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆, marking the conclusion of the 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮-𝗘𝗨 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 after nearly two decades of negotiations.

Described as the “𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘭s,” this landmark agreement represents a decisive step in strengthening India-EU economic relations. Together, India and the European Union account for nearly 𝟮𝟱% 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗗𝗣, making this the largest FTA concluded to date.

With €𝟰 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 and access to a market of nearly 𝟮 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, the agreement significantly enhances market access, regulatory predictability, and long-term trade certainty for businesses.

🇧🇪🇱🇺 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝘂𝘅𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀
• 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳𝘀 on exports such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, engineering goods, and clean technologies
• 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀, supporting long-term planning

At a broader European level, the FTA strengthens long-term cooperation with India in manufacturing, energy transition, sustainable industry and innovation. Companies such as John Cockerill, Syensqo and others already illustrate the strong industrial potential of this partnership combining European engineering excellence with India’s scale and growth ambitions.

Overall, the India–EU FTA opens a new chapter in bilateral relations - 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵, with clear benefits for businesses across Belgium, Luxembourg, and Europe.
