Shiv Sena is an Indian far-right regional political party based in the Maratha Homeland of Maharashtra. Its ideology are based on Marathi nationalism and Hindu nationalism (Hindutva), founded on 19 June 1966 by political cartoonist Late Shriman Balasaheb Thackeray Saheb Ji. The party originally emerged from a movement in Mumbai demanding preferential rights for Maharashtrians over migrants to the

city. It is currently headed by Shriman Uddhav Saheb Thackeray Ji. The Great Hindu Maratha Warrior King Shri Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is the guiding spirit of the Shiv Sena and the Shiv Sainik's. The official mouthpiece of the Shiv Sena is Saamana. Its major political wings are the Yuva Sena - Youth Wing - Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Sena - Student Wing - IT Sena - Information Technology Wing.
