A joint review meeting between MahaRail and Pune Municipal Corporation was held on Friday, 17th July 2026, to discuss the planning and implementation of Road Over Bridges (ROBs), Road Under Bridges (RUBs), and Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) at Non-Level Crossing locations within the Pune Municipal Corporation limits.

The meeting focused on identifying and prioritising locations where urban development has taken place on both sides of the railway corridor, resulting in a growing demand for safe and efficient road and pedestrian connectivity. In view of Pune’s rapid urban expansion and increasing traffic volume, PMC and MRIDC discussed the need to develop new ROBs, RUBs, and FOBs at such locations to improve connectivity, reduce travel time, enhance public safety, and support the city’s future transportation requirements.

Discussions also covered key aspects, including project feasibility, planning, land availability, utility shifting, statutory approvals, and inter-departmental coordination, to facilitate the timely implementation of the proposed vital infrastructure projects.

The meeting was attended by Shri Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal, Managing Director, MahaRail; Shri Naval Kishore Ram, Municipal Commissioner, PMC; Hon'ble Shri Yogeshji Tilekar, MLC; Shri Shrinath Bhimale, Chairman, Standing Committee; Shri Omprakash Divate, Deputy Municipal Commissioner; Shri Ganesh Bidkar, Leader of the House; Shri Aniruddha Pawaskar, City Engineer; Shri Dinkar Gojare, Chief Engineer (Projects); and Shri Rajesh Bankar, Chief Engineer (Road Department).

The proposed projects will enhance connectivity, improve public safety, ease traffic movement, and support Pune's expanding urban transport network.
