Today, All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has written a letter to Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji requesting the introduction of a ₹10,000 monthly pension scheme for registered and economically needy film industry workers and artists after the age of 60.

The workers, technicians, junior artists, artists and all members associated with the Indian film industry dedicate their entire lives to the entertainment industry, yet many struggle for financial security in old age.

The Indian film industry operates under the unorganised sector, where lakhs of workers spend their lives working without financial stability or social security. These hardworking individuals deserve dignity, respect and support in their later years.

AICWA sincerely hopes that the Government of India will take positive steps towards securing the future of film industry workers and artists across the country.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has written to the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, requesting the introduction of a pension scheme and health insurance benefits for workers associated with the Indian film industry.

In the letter, AICWA has urged the Government of India to provide financial security and medical support to workers, technicians, junior artists, and artists working across Bollywood as well as all regional film industries in the country after they attain the age of 60 years.

AICWA stated that thousands of film industry workers dedicate their entire lives to the entertainment sector, yet many face severe financial and medical hardships in old age due to the absence of stable income and healthcare protection. The association has therefore appealed for the implementation of a structured welfare policy to ensure dignity, security, and healthcare support for cine workers and artists across India.
